We love it here. Feels like "real camping" and yet there are amenities nearby. We had water and electric at our site. Good fishing in the lake. Nice for swimming too. Friendly staff and other campers were friendly too. Clean bathrooms. Seems like a welcoming place for our multi-racial family. We'll be back.

This is an amazing state park. We stayed for a weekend in our RV and went to the beach. The RV sites are large and had enough room for our travel trailer and truck.

Tubing on the lake. Wide open, clean, and quiet.

Fantastic state park with picnic pavilions, sand beach, marina, boat rentals (power and non power) and plenty of nature to enjoy. Free admission, usually not very busy, and extremely relaxing.

We loved it here! Our first time visiting and we'll definitely be back. We stayed for the week in the deluxe cabin- Bluegill. The cabin was beautiful, clean, secluded, close to the bathrooms and water. It was handicapped accessible which worked out great for our daughter on crutches. There was a sand beach and a nice little concession stand that sold multiple food items as well as PSU creamery ice cream. We rented a pontoon boat and had a wonderful afternoon on the water. Easy online rental, the guys running the place were very helpful, thorough and friendly. The Nature Inn was beautiful if you're more into a hotel rather than camping. The man at the front desk was great- friendly and helpful. We also stopped in at the main office to ask multiple questions. The lady there was the same- helpful, friendly, and thorough. We bought magnets for our car and a couple t-shirts. It was a wonderful vacation for our family!

Located at the Nexus of PA. Travel time from Philly is about 31/2 hours. This park is well maintained with many activities to choose from. Camping, Boating, Fishing, Hiking, Mtn Biking, and Nature/Birding. Camping - Three campsite loops. One is for primitive camping, the other two have electric and paved pads with picnic tables and fire/grill rings. Water stations are located throughout. Clean modern bath house with hot water. Nice Volleyball court. One loop is doggie friendly with a doggie run area. Boating/Fishing - Marina, several boat ramps and a ton of parking. Hiking/Btn Biking - Tons of well maintained trails for all levels. Nature/Birding - We saw a ton of birds and butterflies including a Bald Eagle, Woodchucks, Deer and even a Momma Bear with her cub. There are several scenic view point. Also, this year they built a brand new Eco-Friendly Inn which is amazing. So amazing, we are going to stay there New Years. Other opportunities: Penn State, City of Bellafonte and Scenic Elk Drive. For additional info - http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/stateparks/parks/baldeagle.aspx Enjoy, Eddie

Ok for the price. Beautiful scenery around, close to Lake. Not all sites have electric , they told us originally generator could be run, assumed till 12 am at least -they made us turn off a 9pm even though ours is quiet. Bathrooms leave a lot to be desired. I would pay more to have better facilities. They need to look at how Michigan handles their State parks and actually cleans their facilities twice daily with separate showers that lock with solid door and are unisex. Sad I'd like to see my home state step it up.

There is a modern playground. There are athletic courts and fields. There is a really nice walking trail. There are several things that set this one apart, though. It has a dog park, for one. This is something uncommon in this part of the state. The other unique feature is a butterfly garden. It is quite beautiful and scientifically correct for the species of butterfly and bees in this part of the state. There is even a yearly educational program called Wings in the Park which was going on the day we got there. The program had activity stations set up with educational "questions" to help the young and old, alike, learn about the butterfly. There was even a station about bees. This program had information on new methods for growing perennials that are friendly to the butterfly. They had information on conservation efforts in effect in order to save the rapidly disappearing Monarch butterfly. Back to the park itself. The main trail winds through some fields. One of which appears to be a horse pasture. It is really odd, too. You would think with the developments nearby, that you would feel like you were in the middle of a residential area. You don't feel that way. It feels completely rural and relaxing. I imagine this would be a great place to go for a jog. The main trail is paved. But there are little grass covered trails and reflection spots throughout the butterfly garden. So with all this, I can really highly recommend this park. One of the top ones I have been to in along time. I mean... butterfly garden? Yep, with sunflowers, semi exotic looking native birds, and natural beauty, this would be a great place to visit daily.

It also features a nice large classroom space with activities and short films - on the day we visited, it was alternating between videos on elk and eagles. There was a sighting of a large bull while we were there. There is a reservoir created by a dam that offers opportunities for boating and fishing, and the dam is a great place to get a good overlook of the area. They offer pontoon boat tours on Sundays during parts of the year, but unfortunately, ours got cancelled due to the boat needing a repair. Camping, hiking, and wildlife viewing areas are also available in the park. We really enjoyed our visit here!
