They even have a gallery dog, the dogs real. Every piece of art has such great detail. I like the more dark kinda art. This place definitely rocks

Walking into Art Villain Gallery & Consignment feels like tumbling down a creative rabbit hole --…read morethe kind lined with glittering antiques, mind-bending sculptures, and walls that practically hum with imagination! My family and I have dropped by several times, and every visit feels like a brand-new adventure through art history and modern expression all rolled into one. The space itself is incredible, inside an old bank building (yes, there's serious "Cool Factor" energy here). Everywhere you look, there's something unexpected, collage art that catches you off guard, mixed media pieces that spark conversation, and paintings that could easily live in a museum. The vibe is warm and personal, too. On each visit, the associates and the artist-owner were there to chat, answer questions, and share the stories behind the works -- which makes browsing feel more like a private studio tour than a shopping trip. And if that's not enough, on weekends, the outside gallery front transforms into a quaint outdoor music venue featuring live Jazz and Classic Rock. It really feels like you are a guest in a friend's home studio. Bottom line: If you love art, music, and a dash of eccentric charm, this San Carlos gem is a must-see. Even if you have to drive a little -- trust me, it's worth every mile.

They had so many fun beers and were hits with everyone in the group. We had people who preferred sours, vs light beers, vs IPAs. All the beers were amazing. I can't recommend this place enough for a chill night out!

Family-Friendly Friday Spot for Large Groups…read more We have come here on Friday afternoons after school. It is an incredibly convenient, spacious venue that is perfect for flexible coordination of meetups with friends, kids, and large groups. The setup features a rotating lineup of three to four food trucks--which you can easily check on their website ahead of time--alongside beer and wine on tap (though my husband notes that beer connoisseurs might find the tap list a bit underwhelming). While the indoor space is quite large, it is fairly dark, so we highly prefer visiting when the weather is nice. Sitting outside at their picnic tables is a fantastic experience. It's a wonderful, laid-back community spot that we highly recommend for a casual get together. They also seem to have themed events and live music at times.

There was also a special event on the day I visited, an exotic car show featuring a collection of high-performance and luxury vehicles that fascinated me, particularly a Kindred Bronco beauty and Cirrus Aircraft, all of which made my trip this past weekend worth the $24 price of admission. Inside the museum, the setup was inviting and immersive with unique lighting filling the large multilevel space. There was plenty to learn about and explore including John Montgomery's study of birds combined with his expertise in math and physics to understand flight (and the creation and experimentation of multiple gliders in the 19th century with curved wings like a bird), WW1 and NASA aircraft, rockets and space travel, military flight demos like the Blue Angels, the story of the hijacking of United Flight 796 in 1971 in a Boeing 737, an airport beacon display noting its requirements, a Bell 47 helicopter as seen in the MASH series, a detailed overview of women in aviation including Amelia Earhart who disappeared in 1936 after departing Oakland Airport for an around-the-world flight on a Lockheed Electra, and an interactive paper airplane exhibit. There were TV screens showing informational videos and documentaries with seated viewing, but there were no captions and low volume so it could not be heard in the echoey hall with lots of noise from the movement and chatter of guests. I did appreciate the benches and passenger aircraft seats available throughout, to take breaks during my visit. There was also a restoration shop on site, as well as a library and gift shop selling a range of products. The fact that they do special events here regularly is a plus. And though staff was available for assistance, I enjoyed the freedom and convenience of taking a self-guided tour at my own pace.
