Where to start - It was sure wonderful to have help when you need help... and competent too.
We were on our annual trek from Oregon to Montana looking forward to visiting with family. The last winter took its toll on everything including our motor home so we were a little worried about what could possibly challenge a smooth journey. And, sure enough a few things popped up even after we had taken our RV into the local repair place and left it for 2 weeks for repairs before we started our journey.
We were without air conditioning even after we were told they worked - which was a big issue since the weather was hitting around 92F and we had pets with us. As we pushed closer to our destination, we thought if we could find a close RV repair place we could trust, we would set up a time to help solve our issues.
One phone call to Bakers and they said to stop on by as we traveled past and they would take care of us that day (lucky for us the summer rush had slowed). We pulled in and Jason was on the job, pronto. Within an hour and a half, he had figured out the problem and had the air conditioners working... you could feel our worry drain right out the front door. Electrical issues on an RV are challenging... but Jason and his helper, Matt, knew exactly where to look and what to do.
So, in the next two days, after we were parked and visiting with our family, we found ourselves with yet another problem - dead house batteries that didn't take a charge from the 50 amp shore power. We knew they were a couple of years old and between the snow storm and the last RV repair shop letting them drain completely, we were again, a little frazzled. Plus the AC stopped working. So, we called Jason and asked if we could come back and have him help us. "Absolutely", he said. Bring it back - he, too,was surprised the AC didn't work.
Turned out, a fuse had blown on the AC - an easy fix and a conversation that a little bigger fuse to help with start up surge was ok to use. Then, he had top of the line Interstate Batteries to replace our old worn out ones installed and we were back on the road, continuing our trip without a worry.
Overall, the feeling we came away with was trust, competency, and a fair price - something that when, in a time of frazzled nerves, is the key to making everything feel ok... that we found people with a service who cared that our trip was a good one.
I (we) highly recommend to all RV and travel trailer owners to feel confident and utilize Bakers in times of need and general maintenance as well... you won't find any better! Thanks, Jason, Matt, and Heidi - you made our trip a success! read more
