To be generous, perhaps they do not have the expertise to diagnose psoriatic arthritis, but bringing records of my history were ignored. Career-related, have had cortisone injections many times. This residual pain will not go away because it is now nerve damage. Have found good care elsewhere and now seeing a Reumatologist for psoriatic arthritis.. medication should help and my new Orthopedist has prescribed p/t stressing surgery will make this worse and not better. "Don't let anyone suggest surgery." In requesting records, the TxH&K doctor did call back and he is sorry. No suggestion of p/t and I do not take prescription pain killers. For colder days have used a cane or a walker sporatically. Hoping I am not totally dependent on walking aids moving forward. Additional X-rays at my current Orthopedist indicate both knees are the same in terms of moderate arthritis.. clearly nerve damage to my left knee.. Whether their staff has medical training I do not know.

I originally went to Dr. Burroughs because I had Barrett's esophagus, and he explained that gastric bypass was the gold-standard treatment for my situation. I was scared and came very close to backing out of the surgery. Dr. Burroughs took the time to talk with me, acknowledge my fears, and reassure me that if I followed the plan and procedures he laid out, I could be successful. I even told him, "Just don't turn me into a scarecrow," and he promised me he wouldn't. Choosing to go through with the surgery has honestly been one of the greatest decisions I have ever made. My blood pressure has gone down, I went from being pre-diabetic to not even being close to diabetic, and I no longer need my CPAP machine for sleep apnea. But what Dr. Burroughs gave me goes far beyond the numbers. He gave me back my health, my energy, my confidence, and a quality of life I did not even realize I was missing. Over the years, I eventually hit a stall and regained 30 pounds. I had thought about the revision, but a lot of insurances will not cover it or would require a lengthy explanation as to why it is needed. I have no comorbidities outside of the BMI. UB made this process so effortless, and they offered so much ease. Through my employer, we have Lantern. I was shocked by what they offered; they paid for the whole procedure, including my hospital stay, and they gave me a debit card to cover additional expenses after the surgery. Dr. Jay Roberts and his team are exceptional! The wonderful ladies at the front desk are such a delight, and the medical staff are so positive and friendly. Whenever I have a question, not once have I needed to leave a message and wait for a callback; my question is always answered before hanging up. If you're thinking about bariatrics, please give them a chance. They're a great team!

They provide an excellent level of patient care. Dr. Harvey is an interesting individual - if you get a chance, take the time to read his bio. I approached the front desk and asked what time my appointment was because I had been waiting for 30 mins. When I was told my appt time was 30 mins over due I was told there were still two patients ahead of me. I sat down and waited another 15 mins, I then went and told the desk clerk to annotate my chart as not seen due to doctor availability. They didn't even offer to reschedule my appt. In fact they didn't even care that I would be seen. I am now without a prescription, PT referral and still in pain. Don't think I'll be returning.
