We talked…read morefor a few minutes letting him know it was not a contested divorce and both parties were in agreement. He also mentioned he could go to court if need be. Then made it seem as if he could review all her paperwork so she could finally file. So we decided to do the 2 hour consultation which wasn't even two hours. Roy wasted our time and money. He used bait and switch telling me he'd go to court if necessary then telling my sister he doesn't go to court anymore. Also we told him some of the respondents income paperwork wasn't completed and should hold off on the consultation but he insisted on my sister coming in only to say he couldn't do anything because of the missing income declaration. Please do yourself a favor and don't throw your money away by going to Roy!

I told him my fiance would use her own attorney and then showed me the door! I told him I wanted my deposit back and he threatened to sue me if I canceled the check. Unbelievable. Do not use this attorney for any legal work. If you do, you will be sorry.

Zukerman Law Group - Stuart Zukerman

Choosing Stuart Zukerman Law group (now named Solutions Family Law) and Stuart Zukerman was the…read morebiggest mistake I made. When I was looking for law firm in 2023 after being separated for a year I read review about Stuart Zukerman and his Paralegal Meena, being a dream team to have on your side during the divorce. My first conversation with Meena was incredible. She was knowledgeable and compassionate. I decided to have first meeting with Mr. Zukerman and Meena which went very well. I felt like I found right team to help me. Then I found out that Meena is leaving law firm. Since then every time I called, nobody knew anything about my case and I was given different person who supposed to be working with Mr. Zukerman. I was trying to be understanding as I know losing somebody like Meena with many years of experience and great knowledge of her job might be challenging for the firm. Mr. Zukerman was very often not available because of personal reasons. When I manage to make appointment to ask some questions, he never had my file and I had to repeat constantly the same facts we already discussed previously which created additional cost. His advice always was not to go to court as his fees would be between $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 that I should come to an agreement without court. Obviously, I was seeking help as I couldn't come to the agreement with my ex. It seemed like he didn't have Paralegal dedicated to work with him and he was lost in his extremely messy office with piles of papers all over the floor of his office. All this created additional cost. Then I was informed by email on November 15, 2024 that he is leaving and that Mr. Ron Huinink is going to take over my case. I have not heard from Mr. Huinink so I tried to schedule appointment through their website with no response. I was completely ignored like on many occasion during the time I have been client of the firm. I called and tried to make appointment, and I was told that I can make appointment with somebody else but not with him. Then I found out that reason for Mr. Zukerman leaving firm was completely different that it has been noted in the email. He lost license to practice law and was dealing with his own legal issues for long time and in my opinion he should remove himself from dealing with such a sensitive situation like divorce long time ago (Details could be find on Law Society of British Columbia website). I have felt betrayed by Mr. Zukerman and this firm and then the person who supposed to take over my case. I have requested refund of some of my fees without any success. Now I am working with different firm, and approach is very professional and as per their estimation in case like mine cost should be much lower than I have been told for months. I have decided to move forward with a complaint to the Law Society of British Columbia, Canada.

This law firm gave me a terrible experience. Avoid them at all costs. I've lost tens of thousands…read morein legal fees with nothing to show for it. Hiring Zukerman Law Group was a huge mistake. Their lawyer dropped me just two days before my court appearance, despite me having paid an additional $2,500 retainer just days earlier, following a private disagreement about how my case was being handled. They don't take criticism well and refuse to listen to you during court proceedings. Even the judge was displeased and criticized the firm for not seeking the courts approval after making her final remarks, which resulted in no decision. It was determined that a trial was needed to resolve the custody issue due to the abrupt exit of my lawyer. Reaching the lawyers in person or by phone was extremely difficult, if not impossible. Almost all communication was through email, and they nickel and dime you for every email they receive. After consulting with another firm, I discovered my case should never have gone to court in the first place because the final order from the Supreme Court in the country where the divorce took place was missing, as my ex had refused to provide it since our divorce. I have decided to move forward with a complaint to the Law Society of British Columbia, Canada.
