Conveniently located in Target plaza, plenty of parking and with about 15 tables inside. This place is in a plaza strip doesn't look like much outside but warm and inviting inside. Huge takeout business too. Staff is friendly and understaffed so be patient. One server when we got there handling six tables inside, one table outside plus answering the phones taking takeout orders, plus checking those takeouts at the register. I was feeling sorry for her and almost wanted to help out when one of the cooks came out to help the server fill her drink orders. All this and it was only 4:00 pm on the day before Christmas. Server was super friendly, experienced and calm. Clearly a seasoned veteran who knew being kind, calm, and focused was the key. Customers were all patient and plenty of thanks were heard throughout the dining room. When the huge pies came out, or the dishes were served, I clearly understood why this spot is a gem and all the locals know it. I actually got enough leftovers for another full meal! The appetizers are discounted during Happy Hour. The marinara is delicious. The mozzarella entree is fresh, piping hot and gooey just the way you want it. The Happy Hour buy one get one drinks are outstanding, 3 to 6 pm daily. The wine pour is generous and the wide beer selection is iced cold. No need for a beer glass. Best cheese pull I've ever experienced in my life and I'm from Buffalo NY! Bri was our server. We have had her both times we have went(party of 6, 3 kids and one of them has ASD). Glad we tried Buddy's out since true Chicago cooking locally has become limited in the past few years. We had a thin crust sausage pizza which was perfectly crispy, garlic bread, beers, soda & enjoyed an Italian beef with fries. Unfortunately did not enjoy the fries it might be time to change out the oil, but this will not deter us from returning. Third time here. Something changed...my pizza had almost no cheese they took it back and remade it and still very little cheese and VERY LITTLE toppings maybe two olives on a slice. Hubbys was good deep dish but the couple we were with ordered deep dish sausage and jalapeños and it came with no sausage! They brought out sausage to put on the top! Not sure if I'll go back now. We are excited to have a Chicago Pizzeria in Fort Myers. We watched the installation of Buddyz sign in November and noticed a sign they will open on December 5, 2019. Went there a week later about 11:30 AM but it is not open. They are open only from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM until the kitchen staff are fully settle down with their operation. Went in today around 5:30 PM and the place is full with 2 or 3 waiting for their take-out order. That is a good sign! They did some renovation from the old Il Forno. Gone are booths and take-out counter. Now there are 5 huge TVs so you won't miss any sports actions! A heated cabinet for take-out order and cashier is by the front door now! A much better utilization of space than the old layout! The staff is incredibly friendly. Buddyz specialized with Chicago Pizza with good selection of salads, sandwiches, appetizers and pasta limited to spaghetti and Mostaccioli! There are wine and beers available! This is our first time here so we ordered local draft beer High 5 IPA and a thin crust 'The Mag Mile' pizza pie with sausage, green peppers, onion and mushrooms. The pie is perfectly baked with the right amount of cheese. My wife was eying the Italian Beef Sandwich on the next table and wanted for her next visit. Deep Dish pizza was quite good, in a laid back atmosphere. The half off appetizer happy hour is a great deal, and you can eat a whole meal of different varieties of deep fried cheese and carbs for not too much money. On the afternoon we went for happy hour, the temperature had dipped below 70 degrees earlier, so god for forbid anyone would want to be outside in such harrowing weather, so we had to ask to be able to sit outside. The pizza: (this was my first time having Chicago style pizza) Sears Tower Chicago Style: I felt sick after eating 2 slices. This is an incredibly dense, physically heavy culinary endeavor. The problem with the thick and thin crust pizza is the toppings would not stick to the crust, possibly because of the condensation from being in the box. I was expecting more sauce less bread. I wish I enjoyed this more it looked so good! Mag Mile thin crust: the crust at Buddyz definitely has a different taste to it unlike most pizzas, kind of more salty. Worst experience I have ever had with a restaurant. I Placed a delivery order on Door Dash. The order state pending confirmation for 20 minutes. After the wait I called the restaurant to ask if they were still accepting orders to find my self listening to two men unable to figure out how to use the phone, who ultimately hung up minutes later. Frustrated with the experience, I called back to be greeted by a rude woman who continued to cut me off stating they did not accept delivery orders via door dash. While I tried to explain they may be the victims of a scam, I was interrupted once more with a blatant "WE ARE NOT ON DOORDASH" and then once again hung up on. I sought to simply order a pizza which eventually lead to a rather kind act of informing them of a scam, only to be treated with absolute disrespect. The food may be good (I wouldn't know). This is a 2 part review. Plain and simple the deep dish pizza and thin crust are delicious. You must try this place. You will not be let down. I cannot however say the same thing about their customer service. I ordered delivery and not only did they get my order wrong, they made me pay for my replacement. This is negligable and abhorrent behavior from any establishment in my opinion. Not to mention the delivery driver literally ran off ignoring my concerns. With that in mind, do not bother ordering delivery from them. Play it safe and hold them accountable in person for their incompetence. read more

I got a thin crust cheese pizza and a deep dish cheese and pepperoni pizza. I asked for extra well done/extra crispy. It came out not crispy and very floppy. I had to send it back to get extra crispy and they were more than willing to do that. This is very mediocre "Chicago pizza" the style is there but not the flavor and texture. (Overwhelming amount of cheese to sauce ratio.) Won't be coming back here again just because the pizza wasn't good but maybe there food dishes are better‍ SERVICE was below par.
