Some of their sandwhich prices are pretty expensive if your feeling like you dont just want the ordinary tomato and cheese. I would recommend brunches if you want to grab a quick sandwhich they fill them pretty well and they are a reasonable size.

I asked for garlic mayonnaise with my bacon and salad sandwich and the lady making the sandwich clearly didn't know which condiment pot the garlic mayo was in so she literally stuck her nose in the pot to check if it was garlic which was most off putting to say the least! Also I ordered two sandwiches and I'm not sure if she had some kind of dementia but I had to repeat every single ingredient of both sandwiches, sometimes twice, and then when we got to the till she had to ask me what I had ordered! The filling on the bacon sandwich was a bit sparse and the bacon wasn't as crisp as it should of been, the other sandwich however (crayfish) was packed to overflowing so perhaps I was just unlucky. The sandwich that I had was nice but nothing special, it just didn't have that premium quality feel that I always associated with Brunches. On the plus side the prices are reasonable for freshly made sandwiches and they have an excellent selection of ingredients and breads which you can combine in any way you like so your sandwich is exactly as you want it. I'd recommend them if you just want a quick bite to eat and you're bored of Pret or ready made sandwiches.

You get a nice room with a comfy double bed, flat screen TV, small desk and chair, L shaped corner sofa and a nice bathroom with a large shower (big enough for two). The staff were really friendly and helpful too. Breakfast was a buffet of hot foods and the usual toast, cereal and yoghurts. And there was also late night bar for those drinks after work. But expect to pay hotel prices. Nearby there's a Dominoes pizza, Greggs and Subway, if you're peckish, or a Wetherspoons next door for more meal options. Overall I enjoyed my stay there, although the whole hotel had the Air Con on a bit too low for my liking (some rooms were centrally controlled). It's a lovely place to stay if you're in town for work, and would even make a good place to stay if you're out for day trips. But the lack of other local amenities makes it less ideal for more relaxed stays.

We called a few days before our stay and had no problem reserving a room. The building is beautiful, historic, very grand and even with its modern upgrades, it maintains an authentic English manor feel. Our room was very clean, well-lit, the decor was lovely and we even had a small balcony overlooking one of the open fields. Before heading out for the evening, we had a few drinks in the hall's great room. It was lavishly decorated, had warm mahogany wood walls, a gigantic fireplace and comfortable lounge chairs and couches to relax on. There was a restaurant pub just a half-block down the road that we went to for dinner... very convenient. Our morning breakfast was served in the dining hall and it was delicious. I believe the menu changes depending on the season but everything we had was scrumptious and we had a nice view of the inner courtyard through the wall of windows. It was a lovely stay and if you're looking for a small weekend getaway in Northamptonshire - look no further.
