After receiving a generous voucher for a weekend stay at Rushton Hall, my companion and I booked…read moreour visit a few days following the Christmas holiday (hence the foggy weather in my photos). We called a few days before our stay and had no problem reserving a room.
The building is beautiful, historic, very grand and even with its modern upgrades, it maintains an authentic English manor feel. Our room was very clean, well-lit, the decor was lovely and we even had a small balcony overlooking one of the open fields.
Before heading out for the evening, we had a few drinks in the hall's great room. It was lavishly decorated, had warm mahogany wood walls, a gigantic fireplace and comfortable lounge chairs and couches to relax on. There was a restaurant pub just a half-block down the road that we went to for dinner... very convenient.
Our morning breakfast was served in the dining hall and it was delicious. I believe the menu changes depending on the season but everything we had was scrumptious and we had a nice view of the inner courtyard through the wall of windows.
It was a lovely stay and if you're looking for a small weekend getaway in Northamptonshire - look no further.
