Even if you arrive early and have your space, they completely take over, making you move and not allowing anyone else in. Thought I was over-thinking it until talking with other members and apparently this is a widely-known happening and huge peeve with other members too! I've taken classes where the instructor actually moves the front line to the back - would LMAO if that ever happened! Too bad - the owner & facilities are wonderful. The culture these girls are creating doesn't match the philosophy:(

Not only did he help with steps, but he put in the work to actually help choreograph a number. Like a full-on dance, plus he orchestrated a beautiful experience for our family. He was kind, funny, and extremely collaborative to ensure Daddy and Daughter were confident and having fun. Two days before the event, I reached out and asked if he could help me (Mom) learn a simple step so that we could also have a moment with a dance as well. Wow! I have no exact words to express how happy and grateful I was that he fit me into his very busy schedule so that I, too could have my own moment with our daughter. When I say that I'm beyond grateful, it doesn't fully describe the superb experience we had at Arosa Balleoom and the most enjoyable time with a fantastic dance instructor. He is passionate about his craft and just a lovely person. We'll be forever grateful and kind of hooked. Maybe we will continue with instruction, because we may have to catch up to my colleague, who is not a bronze-level dancer! The studio is located in a great spot and has plenty of parking too. Don't just walk, but cha-cha yourself to Arosa if you want to learn a few steps. Highly recommended.

While I personally don't interact with them directly, her distress caught my attention. Despite her typically social nature, she felt ignored when trying to greet the instructors before class. The only warm welcome seemed to happen at the start of the class, which, in my opinion, doesn't feel very welcoming. I've also received some nit-picky comments about my daughter's behavior, like 'she doesn't like to share' or 'she didn't listen in class,' and given her age, I expect some of these behaviors. Moreover, in instances where my daughter was crying during class, the teachers didn't address or try to soothe her. I had to physically remove her to calm her down. There was even a class where a girl pulled my daughter's hair, and the teacher scolded her for pushing back, which seemed unfair. After my daughter started yelling, I decided it was the last straw and chose to withdraw her from the course.

I was thinking we'll use the Groupon and then never come back. Imagine How surprised I was when I found the classes to be amazingly fun! David, our Instructor, is Hilarious and a great teacher. We have signed up for the follow on curriculum and I'm happy to say that I think I can now consider myself an intermediate dancer. The other regular instructors, Sandy and Kevin, are likewise amazing and very knowledgeable. They, along with David, Have formed a close knit group of people into a very tight community that make coming to dance class fun! An example of how great this is is group class. Now many people, and i was among them, think group classes are awkward and weird: You go to dance with your partner, not with other people! but with this group it's not weird at all and very helpful! I would suggest Arthur Murray Hamden to anyone who thinks they might want to dance. My wife and I will most likely continue to attend Arthur Murray Hamden even if we move out of the area. You will be surprised with how fun classes are and how quickly you will change from a non-dancer to someone who can glide around the floor with ease.
