They offer national and a wide range of international travel services. Including InterConnex connections, an alternative high-speed connection on the track Rostock - Berlin - Leipzig. Admittedly, for regular Bahn tickets and easy international connections, I stick with Deutsche Bahn online or Automaten. But it's taken me quite some time to learn all the loopholes, and they tend to change the interface on a regular base - at the moment, the Bahn 'user interface' is a literal train wreck!

It is located on the U55 line which is quite useful for connections into Bundestag and Berlin Central Station, the overall journey across the line from Brandenburger Tor to the Hauptbanhof (Central Station) is 8 minutes and as I recall, this is the only line this station is on, meaning most likely you're going to have to visit another train station to change, being one of those two, to get the metro into Brandenburger Tor, perhaps because of this, it might just be easier to get the bus as I found to be easier when traveling from my Hotel. I called at this station by chance, hoping to get into Central Station so I used the U55 line to go the full length of the train route which is 8 minutes. There did appear to be one end of the station cornered off, which probably was the place you would get off the train for the U55 here at Brandenburger Tor, so they appeared to be turning and using the other plaform for some reason. This metro station did also seem bright and modern, it didn't seem old, dark and smelly like some trains on the network and also had lift access, warranting a solid three star rating which is supported by the location being meters away from the Brandenburg Gate. 3 star rating due to reasons discussed above, sadly I don't feel it is worth any higher as the station remains understaffed and of course it is only on the U55 line.

I remember the train slowing down through a brightly lit and empty station, except for an East German guard or two.. I still vividly remember the green tiles line the walls of the Unter den Linden (not Brandenburger Tor) station. I had the opportunity to return to the Brandenburger Tor station last year. I was walking down the Unter den Linden and heading towards the Brandenburg gate, where this time I could freely walk through unlike the Berlin Wall days. The station came into view in front of me and I immediately knew that I had been here before (albeit in passing underground). I walked downstairs, walked through the corridors and touched those green tiles. That's quite a reminder of what was and how walls could happen again.

I like the architecture of this station a lot, it's really classic. It's not much going on here,…read morethere are just information board and waiting seats around, no fast food or snack shops (imbiss) inside the station. If you are hungry, better grab something around the station before you step into the station. There couple shops around. They do have a snacks machine inside though. The other part that I like about this station, the trains come really frequently, usual there are only 3-5 mins between the next train. So even you miss the train, no worries, the next one will come soon, so you might be still on time for whatever you are attending. This station is close to Potsdamer Straße, not so big but peaceful. There are a church next to it and you can also go from here the Park Am Gleisdreieck, beside that there are not much going on here. Other thing, it seem to me that, the glasses of the lifts here keep getting destroyed by something or someone. The lifts there are quite often under construction and usually will take a while to fix.

After awhile knowing to check screens and updated paper timetables it was helpful. You may have a train somewhere, but the screen may have a different destination for your location. That can be confusing. This train station offers many amenities and options for dining before or after your arrival. Bathrooms you do have to pay for. That is always a treat with kids. Overall, a good train station option that just needs a little time if you are new to figure it out.

The u bahn is less than a minute from here.p There are not much going on at the station. It serves only it's basic purpose, to let the passenger get on the train. There is one small bakery for the passenger who needs something on the way to eat or drink. Although the station got no fancy look of this, or a decent entrance, I like it is open air. It make me feel less stess with the waiting. The line S1 to the final destination like Wannsee, comes one in each 10 minute period usually. There is also the line S1 just go to Zehlendorf, it coms between the gaps of the regular schedule. Usually, 5 minutes one at the morning. But that is a rare rounte.

The main train station in Potsdam is very convenient from a tourist's perspective--about a 45…read moreminute commute from Berlin's Hbf, it's also centrally located in relation to the city center, within several minutes by car or bus, or walkable within 25-30 min to the Dutch Quarter neighborhood depending on where you're headed. From the train station, connections to other modes of transportation are directly outside the station. You could take the N14 or N17 bus to a location about a 5 min walk from Park Sansoucci, and another 12 minutes to Schloß Sansoucci. Headed in a different, I took tram 96 to bus 603 that takes you to a bus stop that's a 5 minute walk to the entrance of Schloß Cecilienhof; this route takes about 35 minutes. Inside the station, there are plentiful retail and food options, no lack of things to keep you occupied if you are waiting for your train to arrive. The layout of the station is very straightforward, from the main entrance you go up a set of escalators and there's a walkway straight that leads to all platforms. Good thing is there's no lack of signs with train info. The interior of the station is also very clean. A good number of attractions and restaurants are located within a 15 minute walk of the station as well, including Museum Barberini, Filmmuseum Potsdam, St. Nikolaikirche Potsdam.

The station itself beside trains station, it's also a super mall. You could find a lot different shops and restaurants here, even like Media Markt you also could find it here. It's really convenient. If you have to wait for your train, then you just hang around and do some shopping. In front of the station, there are tram stations and bus stations. There are so many different line here that allow you to travel with it all around the city Potsdam. If you already have the area C of Berlin ticket, the you don't have to buy other ticket here, but remember to check your ticket is that only one direction and couple times. If you got only one time, then you got to buy a new ticket when next time you take any public transportations again. I found the system quite fair though. From the railway station to the city center of Potsdam usually took around 4-5 mins by public transportations. If you come here to visit, that's actually save a lot time. So you could start at the city center, explore all the famous sightseeings here. Don't miss the beautiful Sanssouci castle and garden. And Potsdam itself is a very beautiful city as well. At the end, personally I like this station a lot, quite well-organized and clean. There are information stand and free map for people who needs help. And definitely it won't to be bored, even I have to wait here. Instead of just siting here, I could go to do some shopping or just check out some new books in the book shop. Fantastic!
