Otherwise, you will have to go downtown to rent them for an hourly rate or daily fee. The hotel has a relationship with Kin Ha beachfront restaurant, which is below the hotel. It is not connected, so you must travel down the stairs and cross the side road to enter the Kin Ha beachfront restaurant for complimentary breakfast (any entree with one simple coffee or juice). You can also lay out at their beach club, which has complimentary kayaking, snorkeling, and paddleboarding (tipping recommended). The rooms are grand and colorful. The pool and ocean views are amazing. There are 13 rooms in this boutique hotel. I was advised that the best rooms here are Grace, Love, and Serenity. You must notify the front desk if you want your room cleaned. Otherwise, you can request items/amenities (even a beach towel) from the front desk. Some other things to note here are the laundry room and jewelry/hat store. The options are a bit limited compared to downtown. Why Casa de los Sueños? There is a small patio between the room and the plunge pool. They provide you with a hammock for that area. It is also lit for nighttime use. The water was clean. It was a large room. It had large shower that has a full length window to a garden area. No one can see you, just in case you were wondering. Service - even before we arrived. I contacted the hotel through whats App. I needed help with the booking. Alex was wonderful and helped me every step of the way. He went beyond his job description to help me. He even helped me set up a romantic gesture for our anniversary. He helped with transportation. He even checked on us when we had not arrived to the hotel yet. Luigi helped check us in. Always asked how our day was going and gave us suggestions on where to eat. The grounds are monitored by a security guard at night. So we felt safe enough to hang out at the beach at night. The beach area very early in the mornings is nice and quiet. I did find broken beer bottle glass and cigarette butts(Tons) in the beach sand. The pool is also way too cold and I didn't want to get in. The adult pool is amazing. There is an ice machine which you won't find at most hotels on the island. It's far from town but I knew that and in the morning it's very peaceful. Afternoon and night music is blaring. Staff are pretty friendly and helpful. Overall, this is Mexico so keep an open mind and enjoy the beach and culture.

So if you want to see the nice Norte beach, you need walk through a few other places on the beach. It can get tricky bc the beach cuts off at the corner. But a lot of people were doing it. There was a very rude gringo at the pool one time who was yelling at a staff worker. Nobody stepped in which pissed me off. I walked over to the staff worker to offer my complaint and support. I saw the gringo around in the days after but he didn't act that way again. But I sure was mean mugging him.

Walk through the hotel, past the pool and the bar/restaurant is on your right. Every seat in the open air bar has a view of the bay. Have seen many great sunsets here. Walk to the end of the pier for an even better view of the sun setting. Some nights there is live music. Items coming out of the kitchen are what I would call, top notch bar food. One of the best Philly Cheese Steaks I have ever eaten. Excellent hamburgers, tacos and onion rings too. Have seen a number of seafood dishes and I hear they are great too, just haven't tried them myself, yet! They do have a full bar which includes a number of Mexican beers. Considering how good the food has been the menu pricing is very reasonable. Opens at 11:30 am and stays open until about 9 pm, later if business dictates. You can reserve rooms at the hotel online. Have talked to the owner Danny many times. A great guy with a lotta knowledge about Isla. He built the place from the ground up.

Updated Review: I…read morerecently came back to the MIA Reef hotel and I was honestly quite satisfied this time with my stay. Over the last few months, the hotel has had some significant upgrades, including adding in a Starbucks, upgrading the old small bar, and just improving overall quality of the hotel. I will say, though that it is sad to see that recent storms have destroyed the hotel's private beach. There is not much space to spread out and relax here so we would leave our stuff at the hotel and walk over to the public beach and enjoy the beach there. We have also gone during various months and the best months to enjoy the clean water without seaweed is definitely during the late winter months to the early spring months. The sarcasm seaweed can get overwhelming and leave a funky after smell. Also, it is very important to note that the island does have a sanctuary for birds that arrive late spring, and stay through the summer and fall. So if you book during the summer months, you will be overwhelmed with these loud birds that nest on the island and HOTEL. Aside from that, the hotel is such a great place to stay for a couple days. The food is still average. There's nothing really crazy, however, we would always go downtown and get some amazing street food or dine at the restaurants down there. Again, because there was upgrades, I would definitely come back again ! Also, highly recommend that when you book a stay here you book transportation through the hotel that will get you from the airport to the ferry and then the ferry to the hotel and then the same back to the airport. Very simple, convenient and easy to use.

(2/5 Stars) I've…read morestayed at 17 resorts throughout Mexico, and unfortunately, Mía Reef had the worst food of any resort I've visited. The buffet looked and tasted like leftovers from earlier meals, the selection was extremely limited, and I couldn't believe there weren't even tacos available at times...at a resort in Mexico. The reservation restaurants weren't much better. Chewy meat, strange desserts, and an overall dining experience that fell far below what I'd expect for a resort at this price point. Unfortunately, the problems didn't stop with the food. Our stay got off to a frustrating start when we arrived around 7:00 PM, but our room wasn't ready until 8:00 PM. After a full day of traveling, that was a disappointing first impression and set the tone for the rest of the trip. One member of our family had no hot water for over 24 hours. We reported the issue to the front desk several times and were repeatedly told that someone was checking on it. We spent hours at the beach and at dinner, yet when we returned, nothing had changed. We had intentionally left the shower running to see if anyone actually entered the room, and it was still running exactly as we left it. No one had been there despite repeated assurances that the issue was being addressed. When we asked to switch rooms, we were told there were no rooms available and were instructed to use a temporary shower on another floor. Only after we became extremely frustrated and informed them we were prepared to leave did they suddenly "find" another room. That experience made it very difficult to trust the information we were being given. Communication throughout the resort was inconsistent. A manager told me I could pay for a golf cart rental with a credit card, while the rental desk insisted it was cash only. Whether it was poor communication or poor management, the staff simply didn't seem to be on the same page. The Wi-Fi was terrible, with little to no service throughout most of the resort. The property also wasn't nearly as clean as I expected. Trash sat in bushes, dirty plates remained on tables for long periods of time, and many common areas felt neglected. The main pool was small, cloudy, and had an unpleasant odor, so we chose to avoid it altogether. The rooms were spacious but outdated. The refrigerator was tiny, and the shower door leaked water all over the bathroom floor because it wasn't properly sealed. Now for the positives. Our room (1008) had one of the most incredible views I've ever experienced. Walking directly from our balcony onto the beach was amazing. The private beach is, without question, the best beach I've ever visited in Mexico. The water is crystal clear, the snorkeling is outstanding, and we saw countless tropical fish--including a very cool octopus. The snorkeling area behind the resort was absolutely stunning. I also want to recognize the housekeeping staff, servers, bartenders, and outdoor employees. Everyone outside of the front desk was friendly, welcoming, and worked hard to make guests feel appreciated. The best way I can describe Mía Reef is this: a 5-star location, 2-star food, and 1-star front desk service. If your only priority is having one of the most beautiful beaches in Mexico, you may still enjoy this resort. But if you expect quality food, organized management, clean facilities, dependable Wi-Fi, and customer service that matches the price you paid, you'll likely leave disappointed. I wouldn't stay here again. The beach alone earned this resort two stars. Without it, my rating would have been one.

The sign got us in...the cold beer and view of the Caribbean kept us there…read more Can't speak for the B&B but we met some people on the sunset cruise the next day who were staying here and raved over it. We did NOT encounter rude/inattentive servers, but quite the opposite! We were greated by a hostess who showed us around to some available seats for us to choose from and we were quickly served 2 ICE COLD beers...literally ice cold with ice floating in necks! Didn't get to try any mixed DRINKS as we were meeting our party at another restaurant but the menu looked amazing with a good selection of cocktails. I definitely recommend a stop in to this gem of a bar! It is adults only so no kids. Nice setup, cold beer, and clean unique bathroom
