I got my hair cut and when I explained to Morgan, the girl who cut my hair, that I cover my head for religious reasons she didn't even blink! I was treated with great respect and care! Then when I told her I am allergic to lavender she inspected every bottle to find what she needed that didn't have lavender. Additionally, it was my mates birthday and so I treated her to a pedicure and they helped me to make it extra special to celebrate her! Lastly, due to my health issues I can only my use clean products, they only use Aveda products for hair and skin, and they use Dazzle Dry nail varnish, which has no toxic chemicals! Julie was very patient and objective about what I was looking to get and wise in terms of how much upkeep I was willing to do. My profession doesn't allow for super unnatural colors and I'm not looking to get the wrong attention so she captured the opposite of all that spot on. The cut was self explanatory but I have to say she really stood to her word when she said she wouldn't cut off much! She said my hair wasn't damaged so it was really up to me how much I wanted cut off and as we all know, the inch always turns into three, but my hair is still plenty long so I'm happy about that. I was provided champaign to sip on during the process and I saw several other patrons with water or wine. Also, my appointment was on Valentine's Day, it was a very sweet touch for them to give each patron some flowers after our appointment. Overall very happy with the hair, service and overall ambience. I will be back to get it toned. Some opportunities for improvement: it would have been nice if Julie had asked how I want my hair styled. Not the biggest deal in the world, my hair looked great straight but I know the best effect of a balayage shows when it's curled and I enjoy wearing my hair in curls anyways vs a blow out. I'm not sure if it would have cost me more to have it curled but with the grand total, it would have taken the same amount of time to curl and potentially better represent her work. Also, I wasn't very informed about partial vs full balayage. When I had asked the receptionist on the phone she had explained her knowledge and I had scheduled for a partial balayage. But I guess we ended up doing a full balayage and I was made aware only when I asked why I was paying more than I had anticipated. Obviously I had no say in that at time of payment but I was never asked by Julie which one I wanted - I would've preferred an explanation from her on what the two mean and also a say. The price difference wasn't huge so again not super problematic but it would have been nice to know.

I was completely sleep deprived, upset and cold. (Like most college students.) I was in some desperate need of pampering or a nap; I decided to go with the former. I had my hair dyed about 4 months ago and I was due for a touch up. I'm new here to Ellensburg so I wasn't quite sure where to go. On my way home, I remembered there's a salon right across the street from my house, (how convenient.) I walked right in and was instantly impressed. The atmosphere was exquisite and very welcoming. The salon had very pretty music playing in the background and a nice scented candle to go with it. I was already excited. I waited about 5 seconds admiring the salon until a very chic woman with fantastic hair came up and greeted me. I asked her about getting a partial foil and what her prices were. She told me $65.00 (great deal!) My search was over and I decided to make an appointment. We introduced ourselves and she told me her name was Mary and that this was her salon. I was already getting a great vibe from her and feeling very comfortable. I was able to make an appointment for that same day about 40 minutes later. Perfect. When I came back everything was set up and ready to go. I'm usually pretty nervous about getting my hair cut or dyed, but Mary just oozed knowledge on the subject so I knew I was in good hands. Mary gave me a great deal on a partial foil and we quickly got started. We had a wonderful chat while she carefully dyed my hair, no awkward long silent moments whatsoever. About 30-40 minutes later she was all finished. Mary handed me some magazines while we waited for my hair dye to sink in. A few minutes later after she washed it out, she revealed to me my newly dyed, wet hair. I was already excited. It looked great! I couldn't wait to see it dry. Mary and I decided on trimming my bangs and touching up my layers a bit. She mentioned to possibly make the bangs a little shorter. I had complete faith in her decision and let her continue. They ended up looking great! She gave me fantastic hair tips while also giving me a sexy styled 'doo' before I left. When I saw the finished product I had butterflies in my stomach and I couldn't stop smiling. I was so happy with my new cut and blonde hair. I couldn't help but give Mary a big hug before I left. Not only do I now possess amazing blonde hair, but I have also gained a new friend. Mary is hands down the friendliest and most experienced hair stylist that I've ever encountered. I'm not sure the girls name that did my manicure, but she did a superb job. I recently had my acrylics taken off so my nails were in rough shape. She was gentle, paid intense attention to detail and very thorough. I'm so glad these guys are in Ellensburg!! They are very fairly priced, consistent and listen to your needs. It is a very clean salon and the Stylists are all very good. I like to sit and watch other people get their hair done. You can't go wrong seeing any Stylist there. You can't see Blue as she is having a baby and taking time for her newborn . It is a great place to sit and relax and allow the Stylist work their magic.
