However, when I had my surgery in October a beautiful group of mates got together and bought me a gift card! So, today I did something I haven't done in 12 years. I got my hair cut and when I explained to Morgan, the girl who cut my hair, that I cover my head for religious reasons she didn't even blink! I was treated with great respect and care! Then when I told her I am allergic to lavender she inspected every bottle to find what she needed that didn't have lavender. Additionally, it was my mates birthday and so I treated her to a pedicure and they helped me to make it extra special to celebrate her! Lastly, due to my health issues I can only my use clean products, they only use Aveda products for hair and skin, and they use Dazzle Dry nail varnish, which has no toxic chemicals! Mary listened to what I was thinking and what I liked and helped me pick out a color that was in line with our conversation. Mary always kept me informed on next steps and the process. I was in the chair for quite a while so I was able to see interactions with customers other stylists etc. and was happy with my choice of salon for education, customer satisfaction, atmosphere, and styler sass I don't have a good pic of results due to lighting and color of my shirt but I love what Mary did with my color and have received many compliments. The cut was self explanatory but I have to say she really stood to her word when she said she wouldn't cut off much! She said my hair wasn't damaged so it was really up to me how much I wanted cut off and as we all know, the inch always turns into three, but my hair is still plenty long so I'm happy about that. I was provided champaign to sip on during the process and I saw several other patrons with water or wine. Also, my appointment was on Valentine's Day, it was a very sweet touch for them to give each patron some flowers after our appointment. Overall very happy with the hair, service and overall ambience. I will be back to get it toned. Some opportunities for improvement: it would have been nice if Julie had asked how I want my hair styled. Not the biggest deal in the world, my hair looked great straight but I know the best effect of a balayage shows when it's curled and I enjoy wearing my hair in curls anyways vs a blow out. I'm not sure if it would have cost me more to have it curled but with the grand total, it would have taken the same amount of time to curl and potentially better represent her work. Also, I wasn't very informed about partial vs full balayage. When I had asked the receptionist on the phone she had explained her knowledge and I had scheduled for a partial balayage. But I guess we ended up doing a full balayage and I was made aware only when I asked why I was paying more than I had anticipated. Obviously I had no say in that at time of payment but I was never asked by Julie which one I wanted - I would've preferred an explanation from her on what the two mean and also a say. It is a very clean salon and the Stylists are all very good. I like to sit and watch other people get their hair done. You can't go wrong seeing any Stylist there. So we showed her reference pics and explained we didn't want a bowl cut but a low fade with longer on the top to keep his middle part with a sweeping style. She said his hair is thinner than the person in the photo which I could understand but then she immediately took a 0 to the side of his head and went way too far up. So even after I explained I thought the sides were too short, it was too late. After getting home and taking a closer look; everything is uneven and looks terrible. So now we are out $25 plus tip, and have to go to a HOPEFULLY good barber to get a fix. Long story short you get what you pay for, a quick hair cut that could be done by anyone. She made me really nervous when she said she had to dry staighten my hair just to see it so she could cut it. I wish I would not of tipped her, but I really like the owner. Otherwise I would not of. My hair was very uneven and the way she styled it looked horrible, never once asked how I would like it styled or does this style work for me. I had several people comment on how uneven my hair was, I just wanted to cry. What made me the maddest besides my hair being uneven, is I had to go someplace else to get my hair evened out. They let us bring in mimosas that morning which was awesome. They have a long bar area like an old soda shop which was great to have while some girls waited for their turn. The only issue we had was the price. When I booked the appointments, I was told $45 for hair and makeup, which I was shocked by, so I reasked several times to be sure, since that is inexpensive. I was ensured that was the price. I was also quoted $10 for my flower girls hair. After we were all finished, they charged us $45 for hair, and $25 for makeup. These prices were never mentioned as a separate cost. They also charged me $20 for the flower girl. Nowhere in the building were prices listed, so this was very frustrating. They settled on $60 for both, but still charged $20 for the flower girl. Very pleased with Heathers quality and the atmosphere of the place. But frustrated by the misquote of the prices and them not honoring the quote I was originally given. Thank you to the Team for making us girls look sexy for my big day!!!

The lashes look amazing and I barely even need a fill after 2 1/2 weeks. I can never feel what she's doing because she's that gentle. Scheduling is easy as pie online. The women are also really nice, always greet you when you walk in. The waiting area is cozy and super cute, I love the couch. I definately recommend Gaylyn's for lash extensions and if I need any hair appointments I'll be going here.
