The B&B is very clean and well apportioned, and the breakfasts are delicious. To be honest we found the Delano Homestead through a random Google search and weren't expecting much, but were really delighted by the quality and beauty of this well-run B&B. A shout-out to Sharyn, the manager, who went out of her way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Very personable and a great breakfast chef, she checked and double-checked our requirements and generally made us feel very welcomed. She also has the neatest handwriting I've ever seen in a human being. We'd gladly stay here again, and can heartily recommend this B&B to anyone thinking of staying in the Fairhaven-New Bedford area.

The owner, Paul, and the property manager, Heidi a great team and we had nothing but exceptional service. The place is very clean and gorgeous inside but not overdone. The grounds and landscaping are of tremendous quality and are something what would expect in a world-class place which in a lot of ways is what this is. We were fortunate to have the whole top floor to ourselves and did not have to share the bath, which I am not sure how well that would work. None the less bath was large beautiful tub and shower, tile floor impeccably clean. We will definitely be coming back here.

Stayed for a cold winter weekend in February to get away. This is one of those reviews I hesitate…read moreto write because I don't want to let the cat out of the bag but we had a great experience. There are surely some nice places to stay in Newport but we wanted something a bit more eclectic and unique/boutique. When we saw the pictures of the decor and that each room was decorated uniquely, we were sold. We learned when we arrived that this is operated almost like a bed and breakfast with Will and his partner as the hosts. Check-in is available until 8 p.m. and the hosts live on property and can texted or called with any needs after hours. Each morning a cold gourmet breakfast is provided with takeaway items. Everything is homemade and unique. There are no hot items such as breakfast sandwiches but you'll find poached pears, chia seed pudding, fruit cup, hard boiled eggs, etc. The breakfast items were a bit more sugar-centered than we normally eat, it was a nice treat/calorie splurge. The room was spotlessly clean, as were the common areas. Hand sanitizer was located throughout the hotel and most guests wore masks. Little touches like free bottled water, french presses and coffee, and open cabinets for glasswear. They also had a wine hour with free glasses of wine. There is a big stone firepit with chairs which they will turn on when you want to use it. This was nice for a cigar and a glass of wine in the cold. We stayed in the St. George Suite on the 3rd floor. It had some funky purple wallpaper and a mini-library/gas fireplace in the small sitting room area. It felt hip and eclectic and fun. The windows had water views in the distance which was nice. The room also had a Tivoli radio (unfortunately bluetooth connection was impossible) and a wall mounted tv. A skylight above the bed was nice but ensured an early morning wakeup as there was no way we could find to close it. The bathroom shower was amazing. It was literally almost the size of our bedroom with 3 showerheads and a little thing with jets. It had a skylight so lots of natural light and a small bench. The white marble was classy and the water temperature was good. We loved the shower! The only thing we did not like about the bathroom is that it was right next to the bed which could potentially make things awkward soundwise. The doors on the rooms also did not to much to protect the sounds. We could hear others' conversations clearly and were all 'treated' to quite the 2 a.m. lovemaking performance by our hallway neighbors. That was really the only fault we could find with our stay. Overall, if you are looking for unique and classy, this is a great place to stay. The design elements are unique, the hosts are friendly and thoughtful and it's very comfortable and clean. It's one street's walking distance of the famous Cliffwalk (bring a mask, even though outdoors people wear masks in RI). You can drive or uber to downtown quickly and there are a few restaurants that are walkable. I also will commend the property for not charging the ridiculous 'resort fees' or parking fees that many properties charge. I'd rather know the total price upfront vs. being charged $30 for wifi and newspapers and am glad this hotel doesn't do the resort fee nonsense.

Worst people ever to own an inn. Came to stay this past week (June 2026) and brought my infant. I…read moredid not read the policy that states children under 12 are not allowed (which is my fault). However, we came in with our baby, and the owner Ray was so rude, it was unbelievable and disgusting actually. He kicked us out and said you cannot stay here but would offer us a refund since it was within 24 hours. I walked away extremely upset but understood the policy. I now called the owners wondering where my refund is and he LIED!!!! Stating he never said that, when my husband and I both heard him say that explicitly and we have no reason to lie. He stated he would give us the refund since it was within 24 hours. I will be reporting this charge to my credit card company as this is fraud if I have ever seen it. When I called back he said "people go on vacation to escape children, not so you can bring them with you". Disgusting people and have never seen treatment like this in my life.

My friend and I were excited for our trip to Chatham and had booked a room at the Old Harbor Inn…read moreseveral months in advance, after researching several options. The trip got off to a poor start when we were shown to our rooms and found that one of them had a "private bathroom just down the hall." We never expected that a guest room costing more than $450/night would not be ensuite. When we checked with the proprietors about this and asked if we could have another room, we were told they were full up and that we "just had to accept that we had made a poor choice." That was certainly the case as our interaction with the owners was quite an unpleasant experience. Many reviews mention that the Inn is "Welcoming," but for us it was anything but. The owners blamed us (apparently we didn't read the fine print) and they told us that they would be happy to have us leave and forfeit our deposit. We didn't. We stuck it out. The experience and the bathroom situation were a shame because there is a lot to like at the Inn. Apart from the owners, the staff were kind and helpful, the building and grounds are very attractive, the breakfast delicious, and the location was excellent.
