The first thing that hit me when I entered this small, quaint little establishment was I felt like I was transported back to Mayberry of the 50's and 60's. Breakfast is served all day, and my western omelette with home fries, English muffins and crusty scrapple were delicious with my coffee and tomato juice. I guess the atmosphere lends to the friendliness of the patrons, who seem like neighbors you've known forever, especially the young toddler in a high chair I was playing peek a boo with around the partition that separated our booths. The little gem is a very inexpensive treat.

I have been coming here since they first opened, and it has always been one of my favorite spots. Over the years, the food has consistently been great and I've always had good experiences with the service, which makes yesterday especially disappointing. From the beginning, it seemed like our server had far too many tables and was overwhelmed with the workload. We initially ordered our appetizers, and when she brought them out, we told her we were ready to put in our entrées. She said okay, but then did not return to our table for another 20 minutes to actually take our order. We were left sitting there waiting despite already telling her we were ready to order. I completely understand that restaurants get busy and that servers can be stretched thin. However, the lack of attention to our table made the entire experience frustrating, especially at a restaurant where I've had such consistently good service in the past. Unfortunately, the food was also not up to the quality I've come to expect from Cinder Bar. To make matters worse, after eating there, I became extremely sick with symptoms consistent with food poisoning. I normally wouldn't let one bad experience erase years of positive ones, but between the extremely slow service, disappointing food, and becoming sick afterward, this experience was bad enough that I no longer feel comfortable returning. It's genuinely disappointing because Cinder Bar has been one of my favorite restaurants since they opened, and I have recommended it to others many times. I really hope management looks into both the staffing situation and what may have happened with the food that day, because yesterday's experience was completely different from the Cinder Bar I've known and enjoyed for years.

The outside seating area is very cute, and who doesn't love to sit outside? But the inside is perfect! Absolutely a vibe! Every employee we encountered went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Even realizing on their own that the air was blowing directly on us and taking it upon themselves to change the flow and make sure we were comfortable. Everything coordinates in a modern, farmhouse flair, down to the silverware and cloth napkins. Love the dish ware as well! I was the only one to have a beverage. I got a peach iced chai tea and it was sweet, but delicious. Perfect for a warm day! We then had breakfast, two blueberry pancakes that were so thick, they looked like a layer cake. They were topped with fresh blueberries, lemon zest, and lemon icing. Very good! My daughter had the peach, crème brûlée French toast. If you have a sweet tooth, you must try it! It was absurdly good! Soft. With a crispy creme brûlée crust. We also shared an order of potatoes that I'm unsure if they were actually made in house. But. They were very tasty all the same. As anticipated, this isn't priced at a diner budget. Our meal was $55 without tip. Just for 2 items, 1 side, and 1 drink. A little much. But the food was fresh and very tasty, the service was awesome, and the ambiance was on point. Will definitely return soon!

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere stood out right away. It's warm, inviting, and has that perfect balance of cozy and thoughtfully curated. You can tell a lot of intention went into creating the space--it just feels good to be there. The food was excellent. Everything tasted fresh, well-prepared, and clearly made with quality ingredients. You can tell this isn't just thrown together--it's food made with care. What really made the experience, though, was the service. Everyone we interacted with was genuinely kind, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. That kind of hospitality is hard to find and makes a huge difference. Overall, this place exceeded expectations in every category--food, service, and atmosphere. We will 100% be back and would absolutely recommend giving it a try. Definitely deserves a higher rating than what it currently has.

The omelette came out wrong. I sent it back and got a second. It was also wrong (less so) and I decided to eat it. There are tvs playing sports. Inside and out. Service is attentive. Not annoying. They know their menu. And their food. They do their job well. Both times we went I got the wedge salad. It's very tasty but both times could've used more of everything. More dressing. More blue cheese. More tomato. And mostly more bacon. This time we both ordered filet mignon. It was cooked to order. Mine was rare. However it was lacking a nice, crisp crust anywhere on the outside. It was lacking in seasoning. Even in salt and pepper. It was served with a demi glaze (?). My husband hated the steak but refused to speak up. Mine, I could eat. I didn't mind the sauce. He didn't like it at all. The mashed potatoes were delish! They had tons of flavor. I got the asparagus. It was ok. Should've gotten the spinach. My husband got the fall special waffle with candied bacon, apple chutney, and walnuts. The apple chutney was awesome! The rest was just ok. I also got a mocktail. Lemon lime non alcoholic prosseco. Elderberry syrup. The drinks here are always on point! Last time we came our meal was 5 stars. But I don't need to go to a buffet to get a waffle. Most things in the chafing dishes (mussels, fish, potatoes, etc) were either dried out or too salty and just tasted terrible. The turkey sausage was so dry and weirdly textured I am not sure it was even meat, let alone turkey. The bagels and other pastries and breads were stale and poor quality. The desserts were especially bad. The big sliced cakes and all the little tiny cakes looked pretty but taste awful - fake whipped cream and too sweet cheap tasting frosting made them nearly inedible. I saw chocolate covered strawberries when I walked in but when I went for dessert they were gone with no replacements forthcoming. The tip was included for our party of 9 but she didn't deserve it - there were several times we needed something and there was no one in sight for long periods. We won't be returning.

We are very lucky that they we have the opportunity to go back to our venue each year since a lot of venues are only limited to special occasions like weddings and showers offered in their banquet halls. The Sunday brunch is your quintessential Sunday brunch. They have a made-to-order omelet station, fresh waffle press, carving station, along with over a dozen options served in chafers. The options range from scrambled eggs to chicken Marsala. They also offer a range of bagels, pastries and salad dishes. There is a great variety of options without being overwhelming. The apple stuffed pancakes and the carved turkey were by far my favorite dishes during my most recent visit. On our reservation we noted that we were celebrating our anniversary and we were welcomed back with open arms. Our table was covered in rose pedals and we were provided a complimentary glass of champagne to enjoy with our brunch. JoAnn, one our wedding coordinators, was on site during our recent and came over to say hello to us and catch up. Even years after our wedding, the customer service at Scotland Run is top notch. Everyone we encountered a few years back was a pleasure to work with especially JoAnn and Kelly. Let me premise by saying that not every venue is right for every couple, but Scotland Run was 110% perfect for us. From start to finish, we were in fabulous hands and had the event of our dreams. No bride ever thinks there will be rain on her wedding day, and that was certainly something I hadn't planned for. No biggie, Scotland Run had a contingency plan and had everything taken care of. Years later our guests still rave about our wedding but by far they rave about the mashed potato bar and the dessert table. It goes without saying that the grounds are gorgeous and that's one of the things we fell in love with initially. The view from the ballroom was the greenery of the golf course and open skies. The pavilion was decorated with many, many different types of flowers adding luscious color. The venue was so pretty, we kept any extra decorations to the minimum. While our wedding day is now a day in the past, it is so nice to know that we can always come back for some special time to reminisce.
