Please beware... I went in as a brand new client based off of the decent yelp reviews, and the location, as I live close by. I asked for gel nails (like I have had done elsewhere for years), but instead I got a thick, heavy, goopy something resembling acrylics, but way worse. She said all of her clients that work at the hospital prefer these kind of nails. I never gave permission, and she definitely never explained that removing the goop acrylic product would absolutely destroy my nails! I went back three times asking them to fix what they did. They could not. It could NOT be soaked off. The nail drill removal was so very painful... I expressed my pain, but apparently there was nothing they could do but drill, drlll, drill. I am now seven weeks out and so frustrated that any "professional" could do this to anyone. My nails have never been so short or so fragile. They are less than paper thin. Any nail growth whatsoever breaks and snags on anything and everything. I wouldn't wish this on anyone - AND to think I PAID to have this done to me! Zero stars. read more

I called prior to coming to this spot to ask for the pricing of a pedicure and what exactly I needed done. I got quoted for $40 but somehow, I got charged $65 after the service was already done excluding tip. It was just a simple gel pedicure. The staff is very nice though and the pedicure was done exactly how I wanted regarding the color but a little misleading with the prices. Bae nail is my spot in Santa Monica. They are very aware of nail health and how to remove gel while keeping your natural nail healthy. Even when getting my nails done at other nice nail salons I still find my nails thinner and weaker after gel, but not when I come here. They soften and sand away the nail polish delicately leaving your natural nail intact. The environment is also very comfortable. I walked in during lunch for a classic pedicure $35. I went because someone gave me a $10 gift card earlier in the week. I sign in electronically and selected my service. I was seated right away and the nail tech started right away shortly before noon. The only thing that went right. Nail tech began with removing my nail polish. However, she did not use nail polish remover. She used the electric filing tool. Ok Next she starts sugar scrub on my legs(which is usually last) and proceeds to wash my legs. Thought that was a little weird. During time it took for her to complete my simple, classic manicure, I watched 6 clients complete various services by 3 different nail techs: acrylic nails/pedi to my right, 2 pedicures to my left, and 3 different nail services in front of me. All the while my nail tech cut me twice during cuticle care and doggone near broke my big toes rough handling my feet. 30 min in....still no nail polish. 45 min in she's finishing the first coat. My colleague selected an OPI yellow polish for me. Nail tech started with white polish....no base coat then proceeds to add the yellow polish. I'm concerned because I've been here over an hour and she's still polishing my toes. She had to start over with 2 of my toes. No idea why. Finally done 12:55....she's putting on the flip flops and messes up my left big toe. UGH! Here we go again. I asked for help several times trying to let the other techs know I'm not pleased....I'm late and my toes look like crap. I finally leave at 1:08p.....over an hour for a basic pedicure. I let my toes air dry for 2.5 hours back at the office. I put my socks and sneakers back on and head home around 5p. Please tell me why over 12 hours late is my sock stuck to my toe nails?!?! A whole hot sticky mess! I can NOT win with these nail salons this week! I blame management. They saw this nail tech struggling and did not lift a finger to help her until after 1pm. I'm usually a generous tipper. Not today! Why? My toes look horrible and I returned hella late from lunch hangry! Waste of my time and money. I will say all of the other customers received my better results. No idea why I got stuck with the worst services of the day. Two words: do better! read more

Olivia was a sweetheart and cares about the quality of her work. She made sure the water was nice and warm. Then she checked on the water temperature later and added more warm water to ensure I was comfortable. She did my mani 1st to ensure it was dry before I left the salon, which allowed my feet even longer to soak. She used a nice scrub that really felt exfoliating along with a stone to slough off the dead skin. I noticed the lotion used during the massage part was thick and white, not the basic thin pink lotion that many nail salons use. There is bright natural light and the other clientele was friendly. I just got the basic mani pedi ( it was $60) but she specializes in other types of nails and designs. Next time I'll upgrade to a gel and see what kind of designs she can do. read more

HORRIBLE, PLEASE AVOID. Four nails came off within a week of getting them done! Just two days after getting Gel X done at this place, the nails began to come off! The nail tech "Olivia Dang" did a terrible job. As with the pictures shown, around my cuticles, the gel seemed to be lifting and are so messy looking. She rushed through the process, didn't prep my nails well, and it truly shows. Within the first couple of days after my appointment, I itched my head and a nail popped off, two days later I itched my arm, and another nail popped off and ripped my natural nail off from my nail bed. She did my sister's nails the same day at the same time, going back and forth between doing our nails, because Olivia was the only nail tech there. My sister's nail popped off as well, a day after. She also cut my sister and made her bleed, but Olivia tried to deny that and claimed it was a hang nail. ALSO, she kept demanding we look away from our hands as she did our nails. Why? She didn't want to see what a terrible job she was doing? She was busy talking to her sisters when she was doing our nails, and they'd laugh whenever she'd get annoyed and tell us to look away. I went back two days after the first nail popped off and asked for them to be removed, as well as asked for a refund. She kept refusing to give me a refund she claimed it was against policy to refund, I told her to show me this policy - she said it was on the website, but when I checked her site there was no such policy at the time. Then when I pressed her further, she told me she couldn't afford to refund me. After having insisted, she finally refunded me, but only $65 of the $140 I paid. She proceeded to tell me that she lost money from other clients because she turned away other clients to do me and my sister's nails!? Excuse me? How am I responsible for how you manage your clients? I made an appointment for two people, she was aware of that, I didn't just walk in! We showed up for our appointment on time. This lady, Olivia, is not running an honest business. read more
