When she fell, they put her in a wheelchair and never took her out. Because my mom passed away December 9th, they are prorating her time there and have yet to pay me back. Please be wary of this place. Whenever you call, they are in meetings. They are fast to take your money, but when they owe it to you back you're going to wait forever. We are already 5 months since my parents passed. Both of them died in December. Their food sucks too. My dad would not eat it. I had to bring him food. My mom's bed literally had shit on it. My uncle was the one who saw it. They leave the residents wet. Supposed to check on them every hour. Well I had to buy cameras cause it wasn't happening. My sister and I had to call the facility to get someone in the room.

Without a Dr's approval moved our mom from assisted living (AL) respite care to memory care FOR WALKING HER DOG DURING QUARANTINE! When we were finally able to visit, we found the memory care building to be a completely different environment from AL; dirty carpeting, roaches, old furniture in common areas and the kitchen in disrepair. From Aug '20- Jan '21 she was literally in her bed 98% of the time; no activities worth mentioning unless you are a child, no stimulation, or interaction. They are completely understaffed and have had their activities coordinator cook food, and managers act as med techs. Nadja Mobley the marketing person committed to engaging with my mom in German, and showed up twice during the entire time. After repeated requests for a reassessment that went unanswered since the initial move to memory care and having to prepare my mom lunch and dinner EVERYDAY because the food is inedible (which Regional Director Jouvana Gobin admitted to!), we moved her. I tried reaching out to corporate to literally no avail, I had one conversation with Chris Terry, Director of Operations, who then ignored FOUR calls over a three week period. Even the CEO, Alex Hurst didn't have the decency to respond to a letter. This organization is unprofessional from the top to the bottom. One of the big things is when we entered the place there was no smell of urine it was clean and fresh. I am glad we went and looked for ourselves instead of listing to the reviews. The facility is severely understaffed; the few caregivers they have are expected to perform miracles, managing heavy resident loads while also being responsible for cleaning, serving food, and entertaining. While a few caregivers were truly kind and went the extra mile, the overall management was appalling. I ultimately had to remove my mom after finding ants in her bed. The facility was dirty, and since the activities coordinator resigned, residents were left sitting in chairs all day with no engagement. When I raised concerns, administration was dismissive, even claiming that memory care residents 'don't remember anything anyway.' The breaking point was the lack of basic hygiene. An administrator named Nichole flatly refused to allow a caregiver to shower my mom, claiming it was hospice's responsibility. Despite another administrator, Lisa, promising to override this, the shower never happened. I was paying for services that were never provided, lied to, and dismissed. I moved my mom out the next day and have since found a much more loving, professional environment for her. I would NOT recommend Lynridge to anyone."

She is also in stage 5 Alzheimer's dementia and had a very bad reaction to the anesthesia used during the surgery; a very common side effect for those with dementia. Family members and friends were by her side all day and evening, but we didn't have anyone who could be there at night. Mom was having extremely vivid nightmares and would be very upset when she woke up in the middle of the night disoriented and feeling an urgent need to get out of bed and run away! Sisters Care from The Village at Incarnate Word provided the overnight coverage for us. The "angels" who helped Mom were able to reorient and help her to calm down so she could go back to sleep. They also kept her from walking on her broken ankle before it was sufficiently healed. I wish I could mention each of our caregivers directly.... Onboarding was seemless and stress free. We explained moms level of dementia and a "story" to go along with. I have zero faith in Autumn Grove cottage after the way my mother was treated.
