From the parking lot it doesn't look like much, even from the inside it doesn't look like much. But the food, the food was the star! I ordered the classic 1/4 lb cheeseburger meal, but instead of fries I got the zucchini. The burger was a good size, the toppings were fresh, the zucchini was very tasty that they didn't even really need the side of ranch that came with them. If I'm ever back on this side of town I would certainly return, and dare I say even become a regular! Food rating Cheeseburger 8/10 Zucchini 10/10 Ambiance 3/10 Customer service 9/10

That said, the pastrami sandwich was really good. I was hoping the fried zucchini sticks were made from scratch. Unfortunately, they weren't, but this was just a first time seeing and trying experience. I'm new to the area. The Pepsi was sparkling fresh. Plus+ Plus+ in my book! The restaurant was clean. The cashier was really super nice. I appreciated that. All in all the food was delicious. What might have made the visit better: Being acknowledge through a greeting when I walked up; I stood there waiting for about 3 minutes- ready to order. The owner was standing in front of the cash register looking at a piece of equipment (a headset), but I think this prevented the cashier from taking my order, until he finished what he was doing, which didn't have anything to do with her taking my order. I'm only mentioning it because I could tell the cashier wanted to take my order, but she wasn't able to. It's just a nice acknowledgement to patrons. I KNOW he didn't do this on purpose. He was just preoccupied. Also 1/4 of my pastrami sandwich bun had no pastrami. BUT having said that, they buttered and grilled the bread, and the flavor and crispiness was PERFECT! So it kind of made up for that. I'm thinking the empty 1/4 bun was probably just oversight. As you could tell the way they prepared the food, they do a really great job in flavor and also packaging. So I definitely think it was not intentional. I spent a total of approx $26 on my visit for a combo meal plus adding on an extra large Pepsi and zucchini stick. The zucchini stick at $5.99 is a bit pricey IMO for the amount in the bag. I think it's about 8 sticks the size of a mozzarella stick. The soda $3.45 was a good price for the sparkling fresh fizz! The combo meal price at $17 upgraded was decent. I'd like to do comparison experience for pastrami and zucchini. I'm new to the area. I appreciate they gave me 3 banana peppers with my pastrami. I'd like to come back and try their cheeseburgers next time with a large Pepsi. The Pepsi rocks! You should definitely try this place. I'd suggest sticking with fries in the combo though if you're a zucchini fan like me.

Flaming Grill has been serving Sacramento since 2007, and after trying it, I get why they've lasted this long. This is the kind of spot people are going to wish they found sooner. The inside is spacious, super clean, and has a fun, open-air feel with the big arch windows. There are tons of tables, TVs, a full bar, big murals, and a great local craft beer selection on tap. It's casual, but still has way more vibe than you'd expect from a spot tucked inside the mall. The owner was super friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcomed right away. Food came out fast, portions were huge, and the flavors were even bigger. We tried the gator bites, smokehouse burger, and pastrami sandwich. The smokehouse burger was insane. Juicy, loaded, messy in the best way, and made with quality ingredients you can actually taste. If you're craving a real-deal, fatty, satisfying burger, this is the spot. The pastrami sandwich was stacked, flavorful, and super filling. The garlic fries were AMAZING!! Best ones we've had, hands down. Super garlicky and the fries were crispy without getting soggy. The gator bites were fun to try too, especially because their menu is so different from your average burger place. They also have exotic meats like elk, bison, venison, and wild boar, which makes it feel like a spot you can keep going back to and still try something new. Big portions, quality ingredients, huge flavor, plenty of seating, and that local Sacramento feel you don't get everywhere anymore. If you haven't been here yet, you're already late.

This takes me to "812 Grill" which has slowly gained a small cult following through social media since opening back in mid-2024. Located in a large outdoor strip mall on busy Watt Ave in North Highlands, 812 Grill is tucked smack dab in between Freedom Park Dr and Karl Dr. Parking was easy to find as there aren't a whole lot of businesses close to where they are located. I came here during the afternoon on Sunday 1/18/2026 at around 4:30pm. For those wondering, they are open for business Tuesday through Sunday from 11am-9pm and closed on Monday. You also have the option of placing your order online for pickup or delivery (DoorDash, Uber Eats, & Postmates). Since I did neither, I ordered my food the old fashioned way and that was at the ordering station area of the truck. I went with what was arguably their most popular item, the "Chicken Shawarma". They carry these in chicken as well as beef while you can also opt fora complete meal with fries. In addition to the Shawarma, they also specialize in a Halal-style cheeseburger as well as raptor fries (available in chicken or beef), wings, chopped cheese, and several lemonade flavors. And when my shawarma was ready, the pager they provide you sets off a chirping beep. Total time it took from when I ordered to when I got my food was about 10 minutes. After making the 15-minute drive back home, I unwrapped this thing and was ready to judge how good this was. As you can see from the photo, the size of this thing is massive as it is roughly about a foot long. And after the first bite, I enjoyed the seasoned and tender pieces of grilled chicken as they definitely did not disappoint. This wrap also included lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and the signature sauce. The only reason for a deduction in the rating is that it was a little soggy which probably tastes a LOT better as soon as it is handed to you but nonetheless, it was above average. All in all, "812 Grill" was well worth the price and at $11.99 for a ton of food, you can't go wrong. The young man that took my order was polite while the truck was easy to identify, even from busy Watt Ave. With excellent tasting food, reasonable prices, above average service, and generous hours of operation, I am giving 812 Grill a respectable four star rating.

They've got wraps, platters, burgers, and fries, but I was set on lamb over rice, so I went with the mixed platter with lamb and chicken. The guy at the front was super helpful and put me on which veggies and sauces to get. He added lettuce, tomato, onion, and pepperoncinis. For sauces, I got the white sauce, sriracha, and a cilantro sauce that reminded me of an Indian-style chutney, which was really good. Portion size was huge. Honestly could've been two meals. At $13.99, it's a great value, especially considering a similar amount of food at Chipotle would be pushing $20+. Flavor-wise, everything hit. The lamb was tender, well-seasoned, and not overly fatty or oily. It tasted like proper gyro meat, but I liked that it came in chunks instead of shaved slices. The chicken was also great. Super moist, flavorful, and had a nice char from the grill. The rice underneath was solid too. Long grain, probably cooked like a pilaf or at least with turmeric and onion. Really good base for everything. The salad was a nice touch, and the sauces added flavor without overpowering the meat. The guy up front even gave me a free drink and some coupons since it was my first time, which was a nice touch. The inside was nice and clean, but I ended up taking my food to go. Great spot overall. No complaints. I'd definitely come back. Their burgers looked really good too.

"Is this regarding an order?" "No this is not." "The manager is busy. I am the shift lead is this something I can help you with." After telling her no and continuing to tell her, I need to speak to a manager she told me that she would not get the manager for me. I asked her what her name was and she hung up on me. I called a different Denny's location. Actually the one off of sunrise and spoke to the general manager there. I asked them for the contact information for this Denny so I can report them for a rude behavior and he didn't have it, but he did tell me that the owner of this specific location owns almost every single location in Sacramento minus the citrus Heights location, off of sunrise and a Lodi location I believe. I am honestly writing this to let everybody know not to come here as a customer or as a future employee. The last general manager that I spoke to from the sunrise, location did tell me that they are currently understaffed due to the structure of the franchise owners, that's what they are personally requesting is under staffed. The other thing that I would also like to add, I went into the store to speak to somebody about getting a number to complain about, and as I was walking in two customers walked out, upset and crying because of how rude the staff was. If you call to see if they're hiring and speak to a "Shift Lead" named Nicole. She is actually the general manager and is lying to people that she is not her position. She does not say hi. How are you? She does not try to get to know you as a customer she just says what do you want? What can I help you with and hangs up in your face so to the franchise owners that read this? This is the type of people that you hire when there are other people who have actual customer service skills and can't get a job. I have 10 years experience in the food industry and have never been treated this bad or poorly by a general manager.

Came upon this place.... it was listed in Grubhub so I decided to give it a chance. I ordered a vanilla shake which was 699 and they billed me up burger which was 1799. I was hungry so I added another beef patty at the price of $2.99. and on the side with onion rings with set me back $1.79. It arrives quickly as possible through Grubhub but like all things anything fried they usually end up being a little bit cold and fall apart. Or $1.79 if you look at the photograph I guess that's what onion rings are going for now today they were large, pretty crunchy and tasty except I would've paid more money for a larger order of onion rings. GrubHub delivered sooner than expected so hot for the burger and nice handoff. Seven dollars for the size of a vanilla shake. I thought was a little pricey for the size of it. Anyway you can look at it on the photograph and decide for yourself whether or not it's worth it. Again vanilla shake was $6.99. The main course the build your own hamburger. .. $18 basically to build your own hamburger which is it which includes cheese and such I was extra hungry so I went for the extra patty which was $2.99. When it arrived it was all in one box and when I open it up, I was actually stunned as to how big this burger was. A double patty looked and smell delicious. Had a hard time to wrap my hands around it..,. It was still hot. It tasted good bigger than I thought but then again I was paying $18 for the monstrous burger meal. I definitely suggest you buy this if you like hamburgers. Only two things that I did not like it needed a touch of salt and pepper, and it was well done. They could've left something in the box stating how you wanted to cook. I am a carnivore, so I always like my meat, medium rare. I do wish the point out. It tasted very good and it was not. I repeat, not dry.... So I come to find out that this is a chain, but as far as chains location go, it was actually very good thumbs up
