Ron Bell came to our house in Feb 2024 - we came up with a plan to remove our old deck & build a new one. We paid him $10 k ( he said for materials) in March 2024. This is now The end of Sept 2024. Backyard Structures built us a pretty good deck several years ago using a newer deck material called Azek. Subsequent to the installation of the deck, some of the boards have become loose. While several years have passed and we remain generally satisfied with the deck, we want the loose boards re affixed to the deck and we are willing to pay for that given the time that has passed. The owner has totally ignored our calls and email.....we found this typical of his behavior on another deck we had him build on a rental house. We have talked with others who have used this company for a deck and, to a person, they cite a total lack of followup once the owner has his final payment. Totally ignores calls and other communication. The mark of a good company is great service after the sale. I would not recommend this company or business owner unless you withhold a significant portion of the full payment until a significant period of time has passed with no issues. Frankly, there are tons of deck and remodel companies out the that care about Customers that are probably better choices. read more
