Tweet tweet! I parked on the south side and watched a bunch of finches testing out some of the Backyard Birds merchandise. So dang cute. I want similar birds to visit me at my house! I went in and bought a bird-feeder similar to the most popular one outside, a few small bags of various bird seeds, and some bird friendly decorations for my patio. The service was very good. I saw employees busting their butts taking huge bags of birdseed out to people's cars, one was running the register, and once finished they'd go right back to answering people's questions. Like I said, very good service. Backyard Birds has a great selection of food for birds along the Wasatch Front. They have a small crate display where you can look at & touch the seeds/nuts if you're unsure about which kind(s) you need for your neighborhood birds. read more

We went in for bird feed and were pleasantly surprised at how much stuff they had in such a tiny store! Staff was very helpful in assisting us in picking out bird seed and in finding the right way to attract our local squirrels. Our birds are very hungry, so we were happy to find that they sell very large bags of seed at a good price. We took their advice to feed our squirrels whole peanuts, and now we have several squirrels who visit our yard daily. read more

I don't know what it is, but Backyard Birds takes my anxiety away! Walking in here is kind of a little magical experience. They have such an eclectic selection of things that chime and make peaceful noises and I just love it. I'm not a birder or anything, but we came here to get something for my mother in law and I've taken others back just to browse because it's so cute! They have so much more than great birdseed and beautiful birdbaths. The employees have always been friendly and willing to help and they know when not to bother patrons to let them leisurely peruse all their treasures. From windchimes to magnets to suncatchers to trinkets to jeweled boxes or crystals and little toys. They have it all. They can help you find the best type bird feeder and food depending on what birds you frequently see and what birds you'd like to attract to your feeders. Be careful if you bring small children here as it would be easy for them to accidentally bump into things or grab onto stuff. If you are a bird lover this is the place for you. A little bit too cluttered and jammed full of stuff for my taste, but it is charming. My favorite thing was that you can buy a bag of lady bugs or a pod of praying mantis for your yard. Parking lot tiny and a bit tricky to get in to. read more

Backyard Birds is one of my favorite shops. Locally owned and operated, it has been providing a unique flair for the whimsical and practical for 20 years now. I go there mostly for one-of-a-kind gifts. The owners are brilliant on the subject of birdfeeding and feeders but are also lovely to talk to about a variety of topics. I love the quality of their merchandise and the kids exploration toys and books. The pricing of their merchandise is very fair. The logo of a cooky bird is my all time favorite. I have been coming to Backyards birds for years for bird feeders and to stock up on bird seed. Its also a favorite place for those occasional birthday, mother's day and christmas gifts. They have a great selection of seed, suet and feeders that keeps my elaborate bird feeding habit satisfied. That said, bird seed is bird seed for the most part. The real reason I come here is that I just plain like the owners and how they run their business. They are welcoming, give attentive service and are just fun to chat with. Although I come mainly for the bird seed, the store is literally packed from wall to wall and floor ceiling with home and garden decorations and an assortment of other interesting knick-knacks and gifts. I have probably been here 50 times and I still find interesting and unexpected items. I rarely leave without a bag of malted milk balls. read more

You know the customer service level depends on who is working. The long time manager men are very accommodating and will break down large bags into smaller quantities in plastic bags. Without charging anything extra.But the young woman who has been there for quite some time won't she wants to charge additional amount. She is not very nice at helping people and is very condescending. She needs a new job. I felt bad taking my disabled friend with requests to divide a 20 lb bag into 2 smaller ones. Nope wouldn't even help us to determine how much would fit into her can she had. My friend told me she is like this every time not just yesterday. The men always help her.
