I asked Dr. Kisner how his day is going as he led me to the evaluation room- he said "ehh I'm here" this set the tone for the remainder of my 45 minute visit where he sat and asked me questions about my back pain, asking me when I experience pain, if I can bend down, what have I done to help, etc. 35 minutes of my appt were spent talking and going over health history /condition. 5 minutes was spent going over 3/7 exercises that he provided me with on a piece of paper. The remainder of the visit he continued typing out my post visit documentation & then reviewed once printed. I was charged $1,127.00 for a 45 minute appointment. 97110 cpt code was charged 3 units total cost $708.00 This code means 15 minutes exercises x 3 were completed. This is completely false the entire visit was 45 minutes! I have never disputed a medical charge but this is outrageous. The cpt code 97110 has a CMS requirement to perform the exercise for at least 8 minutes in order to charge 1 unit. We didn't even spend a total of 8 minutes doing all three of the exercises. I understand this is a specialty visit, however- to be charged so much for something that literally did not happen is absolutely fraudulent and sad. As a patient who is looking for help- you'd expect at least honesty from your provider. I have been to physical therapists in the past and I have never been charged this much - not even a fraction and those sessions were spent actually doing exercises with my PT assisting and monitoring. I was under the assumption Northwestern was top quality and will provide the best care- I was completely mistaken.

The therapist I had was too busy chatting and not paying attention to what I was doing and also farted multiple times during my session. I also observed that they do not clean between patients. just disgusting and unprofessional!

It was a…read morebit overwhelming trying to schedule our two girls for PT - in addition to all of the other appointments for severe scoliosis (prosthetics and orthopedics), school, my work, etc. I broke down crying the first call to try and schedule as it was a lot of additional time off of work for me and lots of time out of school for the girls. But after the initial appointment with our therapist, Karolyn, she worked with me to schedule them when it was most convenient week by week - letting me know when after school appointments opened up. She even saw both of them at once so it was less back and forth and time off of work for me. And don't get me started on Karolyn. She is the nicest, kindest person and she connected so well with each of our girls (ages 11 & 13). She was very gentle yet pushed them to succeed with their therapies. I couldn't help but to hug her at our last visit. She has helped not only our girls, but has also helped me understand how to help them and to cope with caring for them.

Shuana and Chrissy are not only thoughtful and kind, but their expertise is clear as they inquire and assess as well as assist during movement exercises. The bonus is their hands on massage and passive assisted stretching that feels terrific as well as healing! It's also not crowded so the patient feels well attended. Thanks so much, Michelle H.
