Guys are great! Always courteous if I'm walking my dog near them. Always wave hello to residents.

Coffman's Tree Service

We just bought the house in the late winter and he walked around the property with us and told us what kind of trees we had (to me, a tree is a tree). He explained what was going to bloom and when. We learned so much about our landscaping from him! The project involved cutting down a spruce tree that was touching a chimney (fire hazard, says homeowners insurance) and trimming a locust tree that was touching the garage roof. Thankfully he prepared me that locust tree had not been trimmed in very long time and had a lot of dead branches in it so they would wind up cutting it back by about a third. We still had not moved in yet and the crew was well into the job when I arrived the day they started the work -- and I'm so glad Gary mentioned that they would be cutting it back the locust tree so much. In hindsight, it really needed it! I saw the limbs and branches that were on the ground and they were in bad shape. The crew manager explained that the guy removed the dead stuff and cut it back off the roof and was in the process of shaping the tree so it was aesthetically pleasing. It wound up looking very good and I'm excited to see how it looks once it has leaves (should be soon as we're mid-April). The crew was in and our fairly quickly. The cleanup was amazing! You'd never know that they cut down a tree and did substantial trimming on another tree as every single twig was removed! I would definitely contact Gary again for any tree service! Thanks Gary!

Camelot Tree & Shrub Co

Camelot Tree & Shrub Co

We've used several tree services since we moved to a fairly heavily wooded lot (very mature trees)…read morein Detroit. Kind of settled on Camelot as our default service. Price competitive - did one very tough job (100 yr old oak w/very little room between fence & garage & very limited access that had to be removed OVER power lines) for thousands less than some other quotes. I appreciate their willingness to tell me "you can put this off for at least a year - probably two . . .". They do a great job of cleaning up after their trimming & tree takedowns, and are very pleasant to deal with.

Todd came to my home in late June to assess our Bloodgood Japanese Maple and recommended a "summer compost tea root enhancer application." We agreed and confirmed the quote a week later. That's when all communication from Camelot completely stopped. From early July until September, I heard nothing from them. I repeatedly called their office to get a date for the service but was met with a series of excuses: "the scheduler just left," "the scheduler is on vacation," or "the boss who schedules is out for personal reasons." I was left wondering if the job would ever get done. When they finally came to perform the work the week of September 7th, there was no advance notice, and we were away from our home. The only evidence they had been here was a company sign posted on our lawn. Aside from the sign, I have no way to prove the work was actually performed. This complete lack of communication, unprofessionalism, and follow-through is unacceptable. If you're looking for a company that respects your time and keeps you informed, look elsewhere.
