Eggheads Learning Academy

Eggheads Learning Academy

As we wrap up week 3 of our experience with Eggheads Learning Academy, I wanted to thank you for…read morethe perfect match with Lauren. She's making great progress with great nephew, and his Mom. Due to the pandemic, he did not attend preschool. And while he is very smart, he had problems adjusting to being in kindergarten, surrounded by strangers. We felt the school wasn't doing enough to help him with his separation anxiety so we took matters into our own hands. I reached out to 3 tutoring companies and Eggheads Learning Academy stood out. I approached each with the same concerns: 1. We need help pencil control and phonics 2. We need help helping him The other companies just wanted to focus on the academics. But Alenni was interested in my nephew as a person. Her 'mom' personality immediately leapt forward and we conversed that day about helping his whole being. Through multiple calls, texts and emails, she said she found the best match for him. And she was so right! In just 3 weeks, Lauren has helped him find his voice. He's interacting with his teacher and classmates in ways he never did before Miss Lauren came into his life. Lauren has also helped my niece to see her son is normal for his age and to celebrate the progress he has made in this short time of tutoring. Each small step has brought us to this point, 3 weeks later, where he actually told Miss Lauren, "Goodbye. I'll see you Tuesday." As compared to him saying "Goodbye" the second she arrived, and walking her to the door. I am forever grateful for finding Eggheads Learning Academy .

If I could give more than 5 stars to Eggheads, I would. After a year of virtual learning due to…read morecovid, we decided to hire a tutor for the summer. We wanted to give him the opportunity to gain skills in math and reading comprehension - we knew virtual school wasn't cutting it. Alenni was referred to us and we immediately felt she was the best fit. Our son was engaged during sessions and gaining skills. Alenni is kind and calm and has a way of explaining things that make sense. It's a personalized experience too - not a "one size fits all" program like some of the bigger corporate programs. We are so pleased we decided to continue with Alenni through the school year and beyond. It is so nice not arguing over homework or getting frustrated because I can't explain things in a way that make sense to him (Common Core is tough for me). If you are searching for a tutor, you really don't need to look any further. :)

The very, very best. I have several friends who have taken the LSAT with different companies, big…read moreand small, and they have all looked at my Blueprint materials and have all been impressed. You get access to so many resources: tons of practice problems, video explanations for every homework question, and videos for every classroom lesson, in case you need to review or if you missed class that day. There's an app where you can practice problems, there's a score tracker, I mean, they have it all, and the website is easy to use. By the way, the videos are so entertaining and well-made that you almost forget it's still LSAT material. Beyond all the resources, the "Blueprint Methods" are easy to understand and are tightly organized. I took a classroom course with David Burke at CSULB. He's the best! David is genuine and extremely patient; he really just wants to help you. He emailed after every single practice exam with very detailed advice specifically tailored to each of us, which is AWESOME! I did a lot of research prior to signing up, and I found that it's not very common to have so much one-on-one time with instructors for this price. David's teaching style is overall fantastic. One thing I really liked was that he would call on everyone at some point during each class, but he would make note of who got which answers right to keep things running smoothly (and, I think for the sake of not embarrassing us). So thank you, David! You rock. P.S. He also graduated from one of the best law schools in the country, so he's the real deal. Take his class... Seriously.

Hello, my son took the 8-week in-person SAT prep course in 2024 summer and wanted to share his…read morehonest critique: Much Better, Cheaper Alternatives: Free or low-cost platforms like Khan Academy, UWorld, and Acely offer better, more personalized SAT prep. A $15 prep book or private tutoring (only when needed) can be more effective and far less expensive. Poor Course Structure: The weekly cycle goes: Day 1: Full-length SAT practice test (which can be done at home using Bluebook or PDFs from College Board). Day 2: Review the test (easily done with free online explanations or tutor support). Days 3 & 4: Light instruction followed by workbook problems--often with minimal teaching and sometimes incorrect answer keys. This kind of practice can be done at home more efficiently with a good prep book or YouTube resources. Wasted Time: Frequent breaks and off-topic discussions waste about half the time per day. Excessively long work periods lead to idleness (many students on phones after finishing early). Repetitive explanations for already-understood material that other students needtake up more time. Overall, around half the class time felt unproductive. Mediocre Materials & Teaching: Many practice problems were too easy compared to actual SAT questions. Teaching often consisted of summarizing what's already in a prep book. Vocabulary memorization (25 words/day) was inefficient--most of the memorized words don't appear on the test, and it's hard to retain them. A more effective method is learning prefixes and suffixes to decode unfamiliar words on test day. Social Pressure: Students may feel uncomfortable asking questions in front of peers. A tutor, AI tools, or YouTube can offer judgment-free help more comfortably. Summary: Unless you absolutely lack time management or self-discipline, this course is not worth the cost. There are far more affordable, flexible, and effective ways to prepare for the SAT. Thanks for reading.

English was not my first language and the classes that I took helped improve my English and my SAT scores. The teachers were teachers from the surrounding school districts. The teachers were also very good at what they do best, teaching. Mr. Chu took an active interest in my academics. He knew what my strengths and weaknesses were and advised on ways to advance my education by growing the strengths and diminishing the weaknesses. If you have the desire to learn and to improve your scores, this is definitely the place for you!
