I wanted to update my review on WenD. If you have tennis elbow; read on... So a few months ago I was lifting weights and the next day I had this nagging pain in my arm, near my elbow. It wouldn't go away for weeks, no matter what I did. The pain even woke me up at night. I had a long trip coming up so I caved and went to the Dr. A weird pressure band and a wrist brace and $60 later I was told to come back if it didn't get better. There was minimal relief and I had to wear the contraption on my trip. When I returned home I was in agony and thankfully had an appointment already scheduled with WenD. I shared what I'd gone thru and she worked on the area. Holy Smokes! Immediate relief, complete release of the area and when minor twinges came back a couple of weeks later, she worked on it again. WenD is my 1st go-to from now on!! **(2016 Review): WenD was everything the reviews promised, and more. Knowledgeable, personable, professional, and still as gentle as she could be. I have an IT-band issue that was getting out of control. After weeks of pain and very limited movement, WenD gave me back complete range of motion and other than the expected muscle soreness I am pain-free. Woohoo! WenD at Back N Motion is a lifesaver! I have degenerative disc disease and 3 bulging discs in my neck. After trying all options ( I am refusing surgery) to relieve my neck pain and limited motion, I went to see WenD. I am so glad I did! With my situation, I will always be in pain, but after a session with her the pain is cut in half and I have full motion in my neck! She has lessened my pain as well as given me techniques to carry with me to help until the next time I can see her. She truly cares about her clients. July 2014 my right jaw was so bad I could not chew. I had been on liquids a couple weeks. I saw my physician, got muscle relaxants (I'm not much of a pill person, they don't cure anything, so I was not happy). I saw my dentist, he said I was not grinding. He said I was probably stressed & tensing my jaw, perhaps day and/or night or both. He said I did not need a mouth piece. I DO believe in massage as a therapy because 15 years ago I found someone who could help relieve my neck and shoulder pain. When she moved away 10 years ago, I began to search again. I'd tried 1/2 the folks around here. WenD's business name gave me hope and when I called her she said she was not a relaxation masseuse, she specialized in pain relief and prevention. Just what I needed! After my first 1 hour treatment I could chew soft food. In 1 month I was almost back to normal. I went weekly for 6 months, then every two weeks for 6 more months. Now I try to be sure to go at least monthly to prevent getting into such bad shape. A true therapist CAN help. Most people pound you or rub you, that's not true therapy. WenD knows how and which muscles to work to bring pain relief. Worth every penny! read more

I am a professional violinist and, because of the nature of that employment, I have chronic overuse issues with my fingers, hands, wrists, arms, neck and back. This includes restricted motion as well as pain during and after practicing and performing. I have been receiving treatment from WenD for more than a year now and she not only helps restore range of motion without pain in large muscle groups but she does excellent restorative detail work on the small muscle groups. I arrived at my appointment last week (August 2018) unable to open and close either hand without pain and restriction. After WenD's therapy, I was able to fully open and close both hands with fluidity of motion and no pain. She is literally making it possible for me to continue my professional career. My advice would be to let WenD work with you before you try medication, surgery or any other unnatural or invasive approach. Her knowledge of how to keep a body healthy extends well beyond the excellent therapy she provides and she knows how to communicate clearly and effectively. WenD keeps me balanced and has brought me back from a lot of pain when I wasn't . When medical doctors were ready to inject me she has released the muscles involved making the doctors solution unneccessary. She has a lot of skill and the touch of great therapists. She takes advanced bodywork courses to learn even more techniques. Because of WenD I have alot more body awareness and can figure out what I am doing to get messed up so I can stop doing it. I have a lackness in my joints and when things shift I get pain. I am over sixty and still running daily for 40 min because of WenDs skill. Now if you are looking to be fluffed and get a massage see someone else because she does bodywork. That is not to say that what she does isnt enjoyable because is is in its own relief way.She is pretty busy so if you want a slot dont wait to the last minute. Be sure not to cancel at the last minute- give her the respect she deserves. Her prices are fair and so worth it! read more

I came to WenD a several years ago with shoulder problems. I was getting shots routinely that weren't working anymore. With her help, I was able to keep the pain to a minimum and was also able to know when it was time for surgery. After my first surgery, the doctor said that I would probably never regain full motion. She began working on it the moment she was able to do so. I now have complete movement with that shoulder. The second shoulder was done a year later and I feel like I'm almost back to 100% with her work. She continually goes back for more education to learn other techniques. She works very hard to make sure her "patients" live as pain free as possible. She's not going to give you a frou frou massage, so don't expect that. I yell and cuss often while she's working, but I feel so much better when I walk out of her office. read more

WenD works wonders! Body work is the solution! I grew up as an athlete and have suffered from upper back, neck, and shoulder pain for over ten years. Chiropractors and massage therapists had the chance over the years to provide relief but everytime it would hurt again the next day. I came to WenD about 6 weeks ago with "Frozen Shoulder" that I had been suffering with for several months and in a lot of pain and no range of movement in my right shoulder. She got right to work on me and after every session I had improved range of motion in my arm/shoulder and had less pain! I experienced sudden pain in my lower back and hip during a routine gym workout. After 10 days of severe pain (unresponsive to narcotics and muscle relaxants,) and the inability to drive or perform everyday activities, I saw WenD at the suggestion of peers that had seen her before. Immediately after this session I had at least 75% improvement in pain as well as restored range of motion. I had a second session a week later, again with significant decrease in residual symptoms. I started coming to WenD in the fall of 2013 after an accident. She quickly got me fixed up by balancing my musculature. Through subsequent health suggestions I have lost 23 pounds and am, literally, in the best shape of my life at 46. I do Crossfit 4-5 times a week and put a fair amount of stress on my body. I see WenD regularly to sort out my issues and imbalances. She is very adept at honing in on my problem areas. This is the invaluable in keeping me functional so I can work out regularly. She has also rehabbed me from a torn hamstring and a torn meniscus with excellent results. If you just want a relaxing massage, look elsewhere. If you need corrective work to get you out of pain, look no further.
