A new winery in Summerland, as its name implies Back Door like to do things a bit differently. The complimentary tasting included a half dozen or so different wines, made simultaneously distracting and entertaining being served by Tobias Fünke's hirsute doppelgänger (seriously). The tasting room is hobo chic and sizeable. While the wines weren't to my liking -- we come to the Okanagan for primarily big floral whites -- I can see that they would appeal to a large swath of the public, and were reasonably priced. It was also interesting to try the rose both cool and room temperature, as their winemaking style is more suited to the latter. Stop here for something a little different while touring Summerland's wineries, but don't make a trip just for it. read more
