Mme Jacqueline Hahn is a GIFT! Not only did she get my…read moreconversational French back up to snuff (minor in French from undergrad), but she truly has a joie de vivre that is unmatched! She is funny, caring, and from my experience (taking French), could teach me any level of French I wanted to practice- more conversational for travel, more high level for reading and writing, and of course some good slang! She offers both in person and Zoom lessons. She even teaches children and my kids had a few classes with her that they loved! If you want language classes with a more personal touch and flexibility, I HIGHLY recommend Jacqueline!

Jacqueline Hahn is a truly remarkable French teacher. Prior…read moreto studying with Jacqueline, I could understand some French, but had neither the ability or the confidence to actually speak. After studying with Jacqueline for 4 months, I was able to travel to France, speak French and be understood! Learning a new language is not always easy and it does take time. I study the grammar during the week, and then my lesson is used for conversation, questions and lots of practice. This process works well for me as I often have trouble getting my tongue around some of the tricky French pronunciation and also conjugating verbs mid-conversation. Jacqueline is very supportive during this process. I know Jacqueline to be exceptionally invested in her student´s success, and supportive of students of all levels. I highly recommend that anyone wishing to learn French contact Jacqueline Hahn for lessons.

Ross doesn't care about his swim team, only water polo, so if you are on the swim team, you are 3rd class. When pool closed in 2021, he found a place for WP to practice but not ST- go run on the beach. Team shrank during pandemic, lot of apathy, lost ST to Nova, and others. Not likely that Ross will be replaced since his HS WP team is a winner, but he is a one trick pony. We were there for 6 years and I wouldn't know Ross if he knocked on my front door. Our current team isn't like that, there are no queens or princes there. Remember, the higher your pedestal, the farther is your fall from grace. Ross has built himself a pretty high one. A problem with the old reviews is they don't distinguish between NBS- a swim team, the special Jr. Guard training offered in the Spring, and City of NB swim lessons run by NBFD- which runs NB lifeguards. Nothing is affiliated with NB Jr. Guards here- the test is at CdMHS. If you just want summer lessons (run by the NBFD), or some swimming for your child under 8, it is good. Kevin is really a great guy and family friendly, I would not expect anything to change with a new facility, probably get worse. Too bad, Olympian Aaron Peirsol swam on the NHHS team, so it has a good history, if anyone cared. I'm not aware of any WP Olympians from NHHS. There is a good program for Jr. Guard swim practice but it is short term, lots of kids swimming laps to get fast enough to pass the test. But for long term JO training, not so great. It's too bad, I really like Kevin, and the pool is very convenient for us, but we went to another team when the team abandoned us. Coach Jim, gone. Coach Lexie, gone. Coach Stephanie, gone. Us, gone.

My younger daughter also stays here during the lessons and just hangs out with the girls. Aside from learning to sew, it's also a great opportunity for them to socialize with other girls and get in some "girl time". Fabric and other supplies are available for purchase separately. I find this to be super convenient rather than having to go somewhere and buy them as I'm a single dad and am totally out of my element in a fabric store. I appreciate everything that Lisa does for my girls. She makes it easy for me as all I need to do is drop my girls off and I know they're in trusted hands for two hours each week. I get text message reminders the day before and if there's a problem, I can take her on a different day. Lisa is always willing to accommodate. I'm totally happy here and more important, my girls are happy and always look forward to going here each week.

My daughter has been going to Angel Threads Sewing School for over 3 years. She loved it so much…read morethat I was inspired to go, too. I've been going for over 2-1/2 years. Lisa encourages everyone to start with a simple project, so my daughter started with pajamas. My first project was a tote bag. These initial projects give the student the chance learn the basics of sewing. After the initial project, Lisa lets the student select whatever project they want, as long as it is within their abilities. If she feels that a student isn't stretching themselves enough, then she will suggest that they try something where they can learn a new skill. I have worked up from that initial project into making complex dresses and jackets (see the pictures I've posted as examples). My daughter and I both have also been successful in using the skills gained from Lisa to start and complete sewing projects at home. She also has helped us adjust the patterns to ensure a better fit. Basically, these are the things that I love about Angel Threads Sewing (besides obviously learning to sew): 1. Flexibility in projects. Some sewing places restrict you to a specific project. I like that we can choose what we want to work on. Lisa somehow makes this work, with everyone working at different stages of different projects at the same time. 2. Flexible scheduling. I like going the same day each week, because it works for my schedule. But, my daughter's schedule is a bit trickier, so I like that I'm able to schedule a different day each week for her, if necessary, or let her skip a week or two. She just picks up where she left off. Sometimes, she goes twice in the same week if she's trying to finish a project. And, sometimes, we go together. 3. We have fun in our lessons. I go to an adult lesson, and it's a relaxed atmosphere where we have conversation while we work. But, I find that Lisa really shines when it comes to working with the kids. She's patient with the kids (some of whom are at a tricky age), and they all love her. My daughter and I look forward to our sewing lessons. If you are looking for an awesome place to learn to sew (or maybe get some help on a tricky project you've started or want to start), then I would recommend this sewing school. In fact, I recommend it to any of my friends who mention that they (or their daughter) want to learn to sew.
