It's a…read morelotta beige on one plate -- breaded chicken tenders, fries and coleslaw -- but sometimes you need to embrace a monochromatic meal every now and then. The chicken tenders come with a creamy mustard sauce (also beige) that is delicious all by itself. The chicken fried chicken is also great, and comes with a bacon-corn gravy smothered on top. The chicken fried chicken is served with mashed potatoes and green beans. It's a comforting dish. They have a small kids menu at Mary's: a cheeseburger, chicken nuggets, grilled cheese and mac & cheese. All of the kids entrees come with fries, except the mac & cheese. One of my children ordered the kids' mac & cheese, and I'm happy to say that the mac & cheese is house-made, and not Kraft mac & cheese. I like when a restaurant makes an effort to make their own mac & cheese for kids! The location is great -- right on the beach, with patio seating. We visited during the fall, on a chilly day, so we sat inside, but we still had a nice view of the beach. After we ate, we were steps away from the sand. It was nice to enjoy a tasty meal and then watch the sun set from the beach that was right there.

The server was really nice and took our order but we didn't see her again until later when we were done with the food. No checking in so we weren't able to ask for things like extra sauce or another set of silverware. In terms of food everything was a little off. The mushroom pizza was too lemon forward. Maybe they should use truffle oil instead of lemon. The Nashville chicken sandwich was dry and ended up being tough/overly fried. For the entrees we had to pay $5 to add fries to our sandwiches, which I think becomes overpriced for what you get. The truffle fries didn't really have any truffle flavor. The only saving grace was the grilled cheese sandwich with caramelized onions. Overall, the "bistro" didn't really live up to the name. Felt more like a dark bar with a country theme and a nice view of the waters.

Everything hit just right. The steak and salmon were cooked perfectly, but those meatballs? Total standout. Dense, flavorful, with a hint of lamb that's bold but not too much. The pasta's more angel hair than spaghetti, but it worked great. Oh--and that mint brownie mousse? Wildly good. Honestly, for a spot in the Soo, Prime Cuts delivers. I'd totally go back.

The bread rolls were warm and soft and honestly the best part of the meal. We should've been more aware when we first sat down and found our seats were all wet I got the Italian beef hoagie + fries ($18). The sandwich was moist and flavorful, and the fries were decent, just too greasy. My wife had the steak salad--stale lettuce and a steak so gristly it couldn't be cut. Even after sending it back cut into small edible pieces, she couldn't eat more than half as it was too grisly & tough Our daughter ordered the beef tips special ($15), but it was just more tough, chewy steak with onions and mushrooms. The server tried to make things right by offering dessert, but after a 10-minute wait, he returned with an apology instead--said he couldn't find the manager. Unless you're craving amazing bread, I'd skip this place.
