For me, I decided to look for someone who did not possess the bad qualities of my previous dentist. My previous dentist had a penchant for railing APS and praising Republicans while doing the exam. I stayed with her because the cleaning was great, but then it wasn't; something happened to the dental hygienist and suddenly the once glorious cleanings weren't so glorious (or long) and I decided it was time to move on. Enter Dr. J. Domingo Valles. Technically the practice is his father's, but he is the active dentist on site. Dr. Valles' manner is thorough and patient-centered; he believes in providing quality care with the patient's comfort in mind. Both Dr. Valles and Sandy, the hygienist I spent the most time with, carefully explained what was going to happen and if I was ok with it. I have a fear of bitewing X-rays from my experience with the giant, ancient ones that my childhood dentist would use, which left me gagging and upset, but Dr. Valles' office has the latest tech which leads to a much more pleasant experience - no gagging here. Throughout the appointment, Sandy and Dr. Valles made an effort to get to know me as a person, and shared some of their stories as well. The entire visit was about an hour and a half, and I left with a very clean mouth and a very good feeling about my new dentist. I know that many people have a fear of the dentist, and I would recommend Dr. Valles for these folks. There's nothing scary about the procedures, and the staff are always concerned about your comfort. They truly care, and that makes the difference. Dr. Valles and his staff definitely earned 5 stars from me. The bar was admittedly low - as long as he didn't talk about politics and did a thorough cleaning I would be happy - but my experience surpassed everything that I thought I wanted/needed in a dentist. And…read moreanyone who has suffered thru severe TMJ or other major jaw issue will tell you how painful it can be, and Dr. Traub was always careful to make sure I could manage any immediate pain, and then maintain a level of comfort thru the recovery process. It took months to recover completely and fully, but in the end I healed so well it felt like a 'well-oiled' jaw that worked perfectly without any pain or discomfort -- so I would highly recommend Dr. Traub. I've been putting off getting my wisdom teeth out for about a year now, but I figured now was the time to do it. Upon arriving to my consult, I had scheduled this appointment about 3 weeks out since it's summer & all of us are out of school + it's the perfect time to get them out. When I arrived, Angela, the front desk person, made the check-in process a breeze -- she had me fill out some paperwork & took care of everything else. After checking in, a nurse came & brought me back to take some x-rays to see how far in my wisdom teeth are coming in... to my surprise, I didn't realize the top 2 were also coming, so that was an interesting time for all of us. After x-rays, she brought me back into the room w/ the dentist chair & asked me a few questions regarding my history -- then we waited for Dr. Urquhart to come. Dr. Urquhart really knows his stuff -- from everything on the consent form he has you sign, to explaining the procedure, to thoughtfully answering any questions you may have... he makes you feel comfortable, safe, & that you're in the right hands. He also writes up your prescription during your consult so you can pick up your prescription prior to your wisdom teeth removal appointment. Fast forward about a month & half, I have just gotten my wisdom teeth out today by Dr. Urquhart & the whole process as explained from the consult was the exact same. Everything went by like a breeze -- he provides you w/ extra gauze just in case & was also nice enough to walk you out to the car too. If you're like me & was terrified of wanting to get your wisdom teeth out but are scared of everything that everyone tells you, DON'T BE. I had very friendly interaction with both Tristan (dental assistant) and Christopher (office manager I believe), as well as Dr Taylor. They were very forthcoming about care options going forward and set up expectations for costs. I now have some professional input to inform my choices on what to do next. As I was being escorted out, I asked about payment for this visit (single x-ray, brief exam & consult with dentist) and was informed there was no charge for initial visit. That struck me as very generous of them. So I had only positive interaction with the staff & leave with a good taste in my mouth for the way they run their practice.

The office staff claimed they would call her back but did not do so, so I encouraged her to call again since they were likely busy. The front desk answered and placed her on hold, but they forgot to actually push the button so my daughter had to sit there and listen to the other staff and the front desk staff talk about her. They laughed that this was the third time she had called and made fun of her being from out of state. They agreed with each other to just tell her that the dentist had left and they said their goodbyes. When the front desk person returned to the phone and said the dentist had left, my daughter brought up the fact that she was not placed on hold and just heard their entire conversation. The staff member became very quiet, failed to apologize, simply mumbled something, and hung up. This is the worst unprofessional customer service I have been a part of experiencing. They showed no care or sympathy and were inappropriately disrespectful.
