Anyways, they always have such a huge variety of comics, old and new, and that's not even to mention their playing card stock, Funko pops, and collectables. If they dont have what you want on their shelves they can easily order it as well. The staff is and has always been really helpful and actually pretty darn knowledgeable about the comics they're selling. I don't have anything negative to say about these guys, truly, If anyone is looking for a comic store with a great vibe and stock, I reccomend stopping by- I have been living out of town for almost 7 years and when ever I do come back to Belleville I almost make it a mission to stop by atleast once. Suprisingly, they still have me in their system after all these years too..

The people working were talking really grossly about women the entire time while I (a woman) stood in front of them. My husband even joked that I should ask questions to see how often they looked at him to answer as the man. The other major issue was the bathroom. It has a sign warning of the "wrong ways to use the bathroom" and that using their bathroom was a privilege, not a right. But the bathroom itself had blood drips down the walls and on the floor, followed by not having toilet paper. Even washing my hands I felt like I wasn't actually getting cleaner. I will say that I asked someone for recommendations and they very obviously googled things before realizing they didn't carry any of the games he named. He then tried googling a bunch of random titles to see if they fit my interests, which I can just do myself. Great concept, not so great experience.

Review Visit: December 22nd, 2013…read more Adventures here tend to be on the more nerdy side. Heroic Adventures, just like Slackers, is a frequent stop for my friends and I when we are visiting friends in Edwardsville. Just like Slackers, the price of things here tends to be on the 'higher' side of things. But with higher prices come a lot of cool things... They have board games, card games, collectible/trading card games, comics, graphic novels, figures, and the list goes on and on. Almost anyone who has the smallest sliver of geekiness in them will find something here they want to buy. One of my friends always drools over they figure section. I always browse the board games, DBZ stuff and Magic: the Gathering sections. We typically spend 30 minutes looking around before we finally leave and one of us bought something. It is a great companion store to Slackers.. Whereas Slackers is heavy on games, this place is heavy on everything else.

Inventory consists of newer comics, trade paperbacks, graphic novels, art books, board games, trading card games, toy figures, statues, model kits, and model paints. Items not in stock can be ordered for you. There is a long wall displaying the latest issues of comics, and there are boxes of back issues. They focus on newer comics, so you will not find older comics here. If you plan to get an ongoing comic series, then it is recommended that you use the pull-and-hold service and create a pull list. Most comic shops offer this service and can reserve and set aside titles for you to pick up at your convenience. Pull lists and subscriptions help comic shops determine which titles and quantities to order for the entire store.

The business is kinda small, but hopefully they can make more room to accomadate the growing number of people coming up for Friday Night Magic as well as their other gaming tournaments. Supposedly, soon they will also start to get in comic books into the store. Hopefully, a good selection as well as graphic novels. The two owners are for the most part pretty easy to speak with. They are very into Magic the Gathering themselves and have pretty decent knowledge of a lot of what people want. Sometimes, they get pretty busy with all the people trying to buy things and you have to wait awhile, but nothing too long. A decent business with a bright future as long as the owners are smart and grow slowly and continue to get along with their patrons.
