Warhammer isn't discounted from GW prices and wouldn't price match the other stores in the area

Review Visit: December 22nd, 2013 Adventures here tend to be on the more nerdy side. Heroic Adventures, just like Slackers, is a frequent stop for my friends and I when we are visiting friends in Edwardsville. Just like Slackers, the price of things here tends to be on the 'higher' side of things. But with higher prices come a lot of cool things... They have board games, card games, collectible/trading card games, comics, graphic novels, figures, and the list goes on and on. Almost anyone who has the smallest sliver of geekiness in them will find something here they want to buy. One of my friends always drools over they figure section. I always browse the board games, DBZ stuff and Magic: the Gathering sections. We typically spend 30 minutes looking around before we finally leave and one of us bought something. It is a great companion store to Slackers.. Whereas Slackers is heavy on games, this place is heavy on everything else. read more

I've been shopping at this store for going on 2 decades, and it's truly the happiest place I've found outside of family and friends. The staff is super knowledgeable and friendly and I love building a comic, manga and book library for my grandson to create memories and leave them behind with him once I'm gone. Dear Heroic Adventures, Comics is my escape from my mundane life. I never imagined myself a superhero, but as I venture into your establishment, I yearn to have the feeling of descending into the bat-cave. Ok, I am exaggerating. I want more comics and less of the role-playing games you appear to do well in. I like that you have a back room for your RPG players to converse and interact with. I like how you have a good section of the store providing these games. however, I would like to see more "toys". Yes, comic book toys, figurines, models, and displays. I would like to see more Japanese animation too. Your store is great Heroic Adventures but could be better. My favorite is Star Clippers in the Delmar Loops. I think its because of the reasons above. Absolutely love this place. I didn't get into comic books until I was about 17 or 18 so I was worried I'd be judged when I went in. I was pleasantly surprised. The staff is friendly and helpful and genuinely love comics. They always help me find what I'm looking for and even give me great suggestions of things I may like based on my taste. I am now a regular here and the staff knows me, which is a very good feeling as a customer to be remembered. Not to mention, they have an amazing selection. Comics, paperback and hardback collections, collectors items, games, memorabilia, clothes...you name it. And if they don't have it, they can almost always order it for you. Their prices are the best in town and they are always having great deals. Tip: stop by on free comic book day and other comic events - you won't be disappointed! read more

Pros: Clean, Organized, Well-lit and friendly Cons: Sometimes difficult to get service on the phone, somewhat limited stock I have gone to comic book stores my entire life and I can't say that Heroic Adventures is the mecca of shops. It does have a friendly, professional, and open environment that I find very appealing. I no longer linger in the dusky hollows of comic shops, so finding a place that lets the more casual gamer/comic nerd indulge is very welcoming. I especially love their shelf of games to try. They let players come out and play around with games that they may be interested in. I'm a fan and the new management seems to be very invested in the success of their store. I'll definitely be back and will purchase my games/comics/graphic novels from here. read more

I was greeted when I walked in the door and asked if I needed any help. The graphic novels I called for earlier were there waiting for me despite the fact that never shopped there before. After I paid for those they asked me if there's anything else I could help me with. They showed me some other collectibles I expressed an interest in. When I was finished with that asked me if they could help me with anything else. You couldn't ask for any more, outstanding customer service just outstanding. The previous reviews were left when it was under a different owner. Can't go wrong shopping here. read more

I love Heroic Adventures! I think this place has the best comic selection of any comic shop in the Metro East, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a pretty good balance of tabletop games, CCGs, toys and comics, and they get new products very quickly. My only gripe is that when there is a tournament or something going on which is pretty much every time I go in there, it can be hard to maneuver around that part of the store. That said, I never feel unwelcome during these events, there is always staff to help me. Love it. read more

My boyfriend and his friend were there playing tonight and they were told to leave around 10 even though the store closes at 11:30, and when they were told to leave the person said that it was because the store was closed yet other people were still playing games there. This is very disappointing and I will no longer be doing business there. They obviously do not treat their customers equally. Also last time I was there they were not very friendly. The store is great. It has a great collection of books and well organized. The employees are very friendly and helpful. The only problem I have is they sell naked books. I have never seen a comic book store sell comics without boards and sleeves. What's the deal? read more
