We went to the walk up counter and got the empanadas and were surprised at how good they were. The filling was well seasoned and they were hot and crispy. I really struggle in rating airport restaurants, because it's just not the same expectations for a lot of these smaller spots... The food selections are limited here, and everything is FINE. It's not going to be great, and you won't be blown away, but it's food. I don't want to wait on the other side of MIA to run to my gate after eating, so this spot usually gets the job done when I have to fly out of D60. The service was great the last two times -- no delays, very attentive, etc. I had a mixup with my drink and they gave me Aperol instead of Campari, but they had no issue making me another one. Always appreciate when you don't have to feel like a jerk for asking them to correct a mistake. Very nice guys! Atmosphere: it's got plenty of space, you can sit at the bar, a high top, or regular table. There's tvs and you can do your thing while you wait for your flight. read more

Flying out of D50 today and decided to grab a quick and small bite before the flight. Bacardi Mojito Bar was perfect and the case of freshly baked empanadas drew me right in! I went to the counter and decided to sit down and enjoy. In this case, they take your order at the counter and then lead you to the small dining room. At this point the wait staff takes over. Service was friendly and fast. Empanada was crispy and packed full of chicken, while the taqueno was a decent couple of bites. If you are after a mojito, this is your spot...per the name. My wife pointed to the menu item and ordered the Cuban Sandwich and for her "one side" she ordered the Caesar salad. After a relatively short time the waitress delivered our meals. For my wife she delivered the Cuban Sandwich, but with chips as the one side dish. My wife immediately pointed out that she had ordered the Caesar salad as the side dish. The waitress apologized and took my wife's order back. Again, after a reasonable amount of time, the waitress delivered a full size Caesar salad with no Cuban Sandwich. Again, my wife immediately pointed out that she had ordered the Cuban Sandwich with the Caesar salad side. My wife even pointed to the menu item and read the menu item to the waitress. The waitress looked perturbed. She took the full Caesar Salad back and disappeared into the back. She did not return. Eventually we asked a passing waiter if she was still working, or if her shift had ended. He disappeared and then after 3-5 minutes, he delivered the correct meal to my wife. Our waitress later appeared behind the bar stacking glasses. So, we had to wait for three meals to be prepared, hurriedly ate our meals, and then we rushed to our gate. Poor service by our waitress. This could have been avoided if she had confirmed what we had ordered, and she had written down our order. Also, the quick remedy would have been to leave the first Cuban Sandwich and then bring a Caesar side salad. Poor service, by a poorly trained waitress. We had to wave another server down to get our check. When it came they had charged us for my meal, a Cuban Sandwich, AND a full Caesar Salad. We told our waiter that this was a mistake. He came back with a corrected check. With the poor service, we would have been inclined to leave no tip, but the check stated that the policy was to include an 18 (eighteen) percent gratuity. That was totally not deserved, but we needed to get to our gate so we didn't ask to see the manager to argue the mandatory 18 (eighteen) percent gratuity. Given the long wait and the two meal screw-ups, the manager should have automatically waived the mandatory gratuity. read more
