I was immediately welcomed by the friendly and encouraging staff and felt so at home! I've taken 6 classes so far and I'm hooked. If you're a Bikram practitioner of any level, I recommend Ash - they have a variety of teachers, but they're all versed in the Bikram dialogue. Colleen, Heatherly, Marissa - whether you like the 60 minute express or if you brave the 90 minutes, they've got you covered and you'll leave sweaty and rejuvenated. The studio is well heated and there's plenty of space - I've felt amazing from the very first class! They have a ton of other heated and non-heated classes too which I'm excited to try (but I am a bit of a Bikram loyalist at the moment). Only critique would be that they don't provide towels or mats so you have to bring your own, and the shower situation isn't great - the bathroom is small so there's nowhere to comfortably get changed unless you're standing in the shower. I'm coming from Brooklyn where I'm used to towels and mats being provided and the showers being really great, but that's Brooklyn where no one has a car and everyone has to take the train after class, so it's different. I'm adjusting to the Long Island life, so this isn't turning into as much of a hassle as I thought it would be. Getting in my car sweaty isn't so bad so I've been showering at home after and it's fine! I love Ash Hot Yoga, the teachers, the other students, the atmosphere, the availability of classes, and the you-are-family, everyone-is-welcome-here vibes. Even with the allowed music in Field 5 that our friends chose, folks are respectful of their surroundings. Amenities for Field 5 include a children's playground, showers, clean Women/Men restrooms, not sure if this Field has a food concession stand/ sit down restn't. If you park in Field 5 towards the very far end and hoof it a bit, it'll give you easy access to the Fire Island Lighthouse. Sand is clean- almost powdery and the water is pristine. This is a trek from Westchester- but it's worth it.

The lifeguards are teenagers usually looking at their phones or chatting with one another. Hours for the splash park at 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and last day of the season is Sept. 2nd. There are also fun lawn games when you first enter like giant connect four and corn hole. If the sand and beach is more your thing, Venetian has you covered. There is a small section roped off in the water designated for swimming. The food section is fast-food esque - think burgers, dogs, that sort of thing. Last time we got a soft pretzel which, at $6.50 was a bit outrageous. And it was underwhelming. We sat at one of the picnic tables - no food allowed in the splash park area. They do have concerts here at night which is fun, and a great (free) family summertime activity. In the off-season, the playground here is awesome. Great for the 3-8/9 year old range. It is also completely closed in via gate, which always makes me feel more comfortable.

There are already so many reviews, so just some notes: 1) Make your way around the current dump (also a Nassau County gem, seriously) and drive slowly. 2) Parking is tricky at certain times of the day and on weekends. Make sure to come before 9:30 on beautiful days, or else you'll be parking far, far away. More steps, If you really want them I guess. 3) Wear your sunscreen! Skin cancer is no joke, and it's pretty bright up top with not a lot of coverage if you walk around to the lake. 4) Beware...No lights in the bathroom and really not the best place to use the loo. There however is a shopping center close by... 5) Look out of all sorts of critters from birds to bugs.. including ticks.

Very spacious and clean pools. About 50-100 tanning lounge chairs to choose from. Very attentive lifeguards. Snack bar is available as well. A diving pool, Olympic pool, swimming lanes, adult section, and various feet of water to swim in. This is all included when you pay the one time fee for the day. So sad I only learned about them towards the end of the summer! They close on Labor Day. Will definitely make it a staple to come back next summer.
