They are patient and engaging and my 5-yo enjoys class…read more Unfortunately, the first week of class there was a glitch in the rink's computer system so my daughter ended up getting 10 minutes on the ice instead of 25. Last week class started 10 minutes late because of hockey, class got out at the regular time. Today her class started 15 minutes late and only went 5 minutes long to make up for it. There is never enough parking in the lot, either. We've had a disappointing experience so far and I feel like we haven't gotten our money's worth.

The place got packed with kids and it was a bit difficult to maneuver around them all and stay out of the way of everyone moving really fast. They played top 40 music during the short 2-3:30pm timeframe. It was fun but the difficult hours of public skating probably causes the populous atmosphere on the ice which makes it more difficult to skate around. I'd go again because it is close and cheap.

It was so helpful to have a private lesson as this is our third timing curling and getting the technique down is key. We didn't want to leave! When you walk inside, it feels like a warm, cozy lodge, complete with a full bar, commercial kitchen, a huge stone fireplace and red plaid carpet. The rink itself is beautiful with its wood trusses. Huge glass windows over the rink provides spectators with great views of the ice from a warm lounge area. Spectators can even sip on an adult beverage or two while watching the curling. I recently went to the Broomstones Curling Club for a bonspiel (curling tournament). The club members were extremely friendly and welcomed us into the club with open arms. If you get the opportunity to curl here, I'd highly recommend it. For those people who are not curlers, know that this is one of the top curling facilities in the US!

The teacher was very friendly and she knew how to teach. A big plus was that you didn't have to own your own rollerblades to take the lessons: the instructor can rent them to you if you tell her your size ahead of time. This is to ensure you don't injure yourself/others. I'd say the overall level of play is mid to low B-C level, with almost everyone having played at least HS hockey. I used to play in the New England Senior Hockey League, but I enjoy this league much more because of the re-draft before every season, less goonery (but just enough chipiness allowed), better gametimes, and consistent rinks (as opposed to driving all over Eastern Mass). The admins who run the league are great guys as well and very responsive if you have any questions. The league Web site with updated stats and standings is also a nice plus. If you've tried various beer leagues and are not happy, check out this league because it's run by hockey players for hockey players.

Its comparably priced for an adult hockey league. Plus you save since jerseys are provided. The guys who run the league are accomidating to individuals constraints, such as scheduling. The administrators offer ways to lower the cost of the league, such as scorekeeping. Its a fun league to play in, without any worry of fights breaking out (a strict no fighting policy). It is the best adult hockey league I have played in yet.
