Bab's was recommended to us by a local and it did not disappoint. Not only was the pizza delicious, but the kind, amazing customer service was a breath of fresh air. Our daughter couldn't stop raving about our lunch and we plan to visit on our next Sandpoint trip! read more

Awesome sauce. Great crust. Super engaged and friendly owner. Huge Calzone. Delish! Reasonable prices. A hidden Sandpoint gem. Outdoor seating. And the owner totally made our day by checking on us to make sure we were satisfied guests--which we are! Ditch Pizza Hut, Dominos, and the touristas...head just a bit west on HWY 2 and you're in for a treat. read more

This is the most truest NY pizza , I have had , I grew up in NY and we had pizza places on every corner/ town. Babs is excellent and the customer service is superb, this is a must visit for anyone who loves pizza, or any of their great food. 5 STARS. read more

Babs' Pizzeria - Not a drop left... - Pizza Near Me - Sandpoint, Idaho

I grew up in NY/NJ, and even spent time working in a pizzeria. I've eaten pizza all over the globe, from Rome to Korea, (to Iraq even!). To say "I kinda like pizza..." is a massive understatement. Hands down, I feel Bab's is the most authentic. New York style, fold-in-the-middle, hold with two hand slices of pizza you can find anywhere outside of the Big Apple. The pie is cooked in a traditional pizza stove, not some conveyer belt contraption that fries the dough in oil, leaving you with a crust that's chewy where it should be, crisp and flakey where it needs to be. The red sauce is well seasoned and the taste on point, time after time. The blend of cheese is consistent and abundantly present. If plain cheese isn't your thing, Bab's also doesn't overload your order with toppings causing the center to be under-cooked, leaving you an overcooked or soggy mess to eat like "that other place in town". Forget about those tiny Pizza chain sized boxes, with a large pie, Babs sends you off with dinner for four and lunch leftovers the next day. Well worth the money and the trip if you're local or visiting, but be sure to plan ahead for take out orders! IF there's a detractor, it's adding an extra 30 minutes when calling in your order on Fri and Saturday nights, often they'll need a longer lead time with orders stacking up on busy nights. Apologies! No pictures, I was hungry and we all know what an empty box looks like. read more

Just ate 2 pizzas from Bab's and they were amazing. What a great spot. The crust is perfect.

I'm a pizza guy, travel a lot as I am a contractor and love to try different pizza places. Small easy going, absolutely awesome staff. People from town were friendly. Pizza was phenomenal! I will always stop when I come back. Everything was great!!!! read more

Such a gem!! Best pizza in Sandpoint by far & the stromboli is addictingly good.

In my opinion, this place is bomb. Their Idk and white pie is one if the best pizzas I've ever had. Highly recommended.

Came in for lunch on a Saturday. There was ONLY one employee to take and make the orders, plus clean the tables. The place was getting very busy, still no help for the young lady who was doing her very best to keep up with everything. We placed our order, but decided to leave since it was going take so long to get our food; not the fault of the ONE employee. Others in our group also canceled their order and left, with one person saying she did so because she wanted to take the pressure off the young lady that was working. Kudos to the young lady working as she had a great attitude despite her boss (owner) putting her in that situation. Shame on you owner for allowing this to happen; hopefully your employee walked out of your poorly managed establishment. First and last time in this place. read more

Best pizza ever! Well worth the wait. Kids and adults love it. The Yuppie was amazing. Two family members have celiac, and the gluten free pizza was great. We will be returning to Babs every summer. read more

Amazing pizza! Awesome service and fair prices for the quality, 10/10 would recommend!

Totally delicious pizza with PERFECT crusts, delicious sauce, and generously applied fresh toppings at a reasonable price and a locally sourced beer/wine list? Yes, and totally worth finding the place tucked behind an office building off the main drag. This is one of those places that you will probably never find by accident--and that's a shame because the food is so good. Really nice people working there too. This was our first introduction to the Sandpoint food scene and it was a great one. Definitely recommend to those seeking good pizza from a local place. I wish they had a location in my hometown--it was that good. I encourage you to seek this place out. read more

I would say, without reservations this is the best pizza I have ever eaten. The Greek is my favorite. BJ and Babs know how to make your diet plans disappear but, because the crust is nice and thin Not to worry You do not do too much damage. The best flavors, the best pizza read more

We are a soccer family and we travel all over the place. almost everywhere we go we find a pizza joint and get some pepperoni pizza.. this awesome little dive in Sandpoint ID. Is in my whole family's opinion the best peice of pie we have ever had.... Not only was the food excellent but the owner was great to. We will be stopping here every time we are in this town for sure.. read more

Pizza was amazing! Great big slices, many specialty pizzas as well as build your own. While family was happy!

Excellent pizza and service. Bab and her daughter were very nice and friendly. Buy a slice or have 1/2 & 1/2 like we did. I had the Bohemian and husband had Hawaiian super good. I like the crunchy style crust as so many places have soggy type crusts. read more

Pizza was pretty good, however I felt like a big inconvenience because I was ordering. Maybe because they only had two people working? Not sure, but the girl working the front was not friendly. I will try someplace else next time I'm in Sandpoint. read more

My girlfriend and I live in Sandpoint and had a nice 4th of July this year. The 4th is my girlfriend's birthday, so it makes the day even more special every year. We went for a picnic, did some shopping, and spent the evening watching Sandpoint's fireworks from the lake. The next day we were exhausted and decided to just hang out and watch Netflix. We ordered a pizza from Bab's. We asked for a large Canadian bacon with mushrooms and uncooked tomatoes; we also asked that the pizza be cooked lightly. The pizza arrived 45min later. The pizza was very brown and the bottom nearly burnt, the tomatoes were also cooked. We called to politely let them know of the problem. The owner answered and said she personally took our order and made the pizza. She said "lightly cooked" means different things to different people. I'd like to meet the people she thinks dark brown and hard means lightly cooked. She also apparently does not know the difference between cooked tomatoes and un-cooked tomatoes. She refused to remake the pizza and said "if I remade a pizza for every customer who was unhappy with it I'd go out of business." It sounds like she may want to rethink the quality of the product she puts out. She was very rude and said the only thing she was willing to do was take a couple dollars off our next order. We told her we wouldn't be coming back. She said "I'm sorry to hear that" and hung up on us without another word. We have been to Bab's many times and have always asked that our pizza be made this way. Those pizzas were made by the young girls that work there and each time the pizza was lightly cooked and perfect. Perhaps it's time for the owner to retire and do something else with her time. Her employees clearly have a better grasp of customer service and putting out a quality product. We will never go back to Bab's, Second Avenue Pizza (208-263-9321) will be receiving all our business in the future. What a disappointment Bab's has become. read more

LOVE THIS PIZZA!! Never found this awesome of pizza in California. Huge slices, delicious, sweet tomato sauce, savory crispy crust, big flavor. Friendly, upbeat owner. Very small town comfortable ambiance. When we're craving cheese and good food for your money, this is the place to go! $16-17 for an XL huge cheese pizza. And I def recommend trying the standard cheese. read more

I quit going to bans because you had to walk through a plume of cigarette smoke to go inside. The pizza was good

Visited Sandpoint from Houston and Bab's was recommended by a lovely local. Ordered a mushroom pizza to be delivered and it arrived fast, hot, and DELICIOUS! Perfect crust, sauce was tangy and just the right amount of cheese. I wish there was a Bab's here in my hometown. It would definitely be our go-to pizza place! PS-- I would order the large, the leftovers tasted delicious cold the next morning :-) read more

Just finished. Fantastic people. Fantastic pizza. Excellent pesto sauce. Great crust.

Delicious! I'm a picky pizza eater but this is the closest to NY pizza I've had in the area. The crust could be bubblier and crispier but we're in Idaho. This place was a nice surprise, hidden behind subway on the highway. Friendly folks but slow service. Stromboli was yummy. White pizza could have had more ricotta. Greek pizza was awesome. Beer available. Babs was present and friendly and working her butt off. Definitely a place to return. read more

Bab's is one of our go to spots! Always great food and fantastic service. The last time we had a mixup with our order Bab's gave me a free pizza to make up for it.... It's that kind of service that makes this spot special and has kept me a happy customer for years! read more

My wife and I stopped by for some spaghetti. The meal was terrible. First of all, our side salad was frozen. We still had icicles on the lettuce and couldn't finish it. Then our spaghetti noodles were undercooked. We couldn't have more than a fork full without tasting the rawness of the noodles. Then our spaghetti meatballs were still cold inside. We asked for pizza instead, which they had no problem making for us as a replacement meal. I'm giving them 2 stars instead of one because they had no problem switching our meals. read more

This pizza is AMAZING!! This place has great customer service and such great people!! I wish the best of luck for this place!! Oh and 2nd ave pizza SUCKS! These guys took my family in with open arms, they gave us such amazing hospitality, can't wait to come back here. read more

Bab's pizza is one of the most delicious places to eat in Sandpoint. I would venture to say that it's a "do not miss." the Bab's herself made our pie and salad! For $25 you can get an 18" pizza that, with a salad ($7), easily fed 4. We all left with stuffed bellies. Staff (including Babs) are friendly, funny, and helpful. I will certainly be back! read more

I have ordered from Bab's quite a few times in hopes that it would get better.... not so much. Most of the food that we have ordered has been mediocre at best. Pretty bland, skimpy on the toppings, and usually under cooked. Hardly the best pizza in town, no better then Dominoes or Pizza Hut. And most the time they are out of sometime or don't have an item that is still on the menu... I mean, how hard is to update a menu that's printed off a copier... The food is so-so, but service is where Bab's really struggles. Every time the wait is really long. Employees right out front smoking or just standing around struggling to keep things straight. If the owner/employees actually treated the place like a restaurant and not like a hobby/hang out for teenagers, they probably do better business. FYI, I've worked in 2 very successful pizza restaurants and it's not rocket science.... read more

I LOVE Bab's Pizzeria! The pizza is truly the BEST in Sandpoint, the Stromboli is awesome, and the service is stellar! Treat yourself to their "Special" (or have one of their yummy cupcakes!) Tell them Anne sent you! LOVE this place! Highly recommend! read more

We absolutely loved this pizza place!!! It is the BEST pizza in the whole Pacific Northwest until proven otherwise!!! It is made from scratch and you can see it being made, but most importantly it is the MOST DELICIOUS PIZZA!!! I would consider moving to this area JUST for their pizza! The staff is very friendly there!!! We ate a large pie inside, and loved it so much that we ordered another large pie to go!!! It was great even after cooling off and being re-heated!!! Absolutely amazing!!! Whether you are a pizza snob or just an occasional pizza eater - you will LOVE this place and their MAJESTIC and TASTEFUL PIZZA!!! read more

This is probably the worst pizza I've ever eaten! They were out of mushrooms and had to substitute with artichokes. What pizza place runs out of mushrooms?!? The crust was thin and soggy. Had to fight the flies to eat. At least keep the dead flies on the window sills cleaned up. Won't be back! read more

It is better than Pizza Hut but I was expecting better. The price is a little bit high but would have been acceptable if they had gotten the crust right and didn't use too much sauce. The crust should have a crackle texture to it but it didn't. (Watching them make pizza, I had expected it to have the right texture because they used a real pizza oven and bake the pizzas on corn meal/polenta rather than a conveyor type oven like Costco.) They also used too much sauce. Still, I think the place has potential. They just need to learn that so much sauce isn't desirable and how to bake the pizza so the crust has a proper crackle texture. If they fix these two things I would give it 5 stars. read more

Really good pizza just down a side street made with care and enthusiasm -- their homemade sauce 'gravy' was rich and flavorful too!

Best pizza in town...new York style pizza ...and an incredible gluten free pizza..love this place

Great pizza, less than stellar service. Pizza was great; good veggies, tasty sauce, crispy crust. Service sucked; sat there about ten minutes before the owner came over. We went up together but in between my order and my brothers they took two orders over the phone so our pizzas didn't come out together. But it was pretty fast so I can overlook the crappy order processing. No fountain so soda comes in cans or bottles. read more

Bab's has the best pizza in town by far. It's fresh, authentic and wonderful crust. They have other menu items but we stick with the pizza. They deliver so it's super easy to get a pie when we are craving one!! read more

Delicious NY style pizza and gluten free pizza!!! Off the tourist track but totally worth it.

The Yuppie pizza is everything you need - meat and veggies - cooked perfectly on thin crust. The service is quick and the staff polite. If you are in the shop, check out the photo album that has pictures going back to when Bab's first opened. Keep it up! read more

If your standard in pizza is New York style then you'll love Bab's. Been eating there since she opened in a small shack by the Farmers Market. Now with a full sit down eatery, Bab's continues to make some of the best pizza in the Inland NW! Her crust is AMAZING! Always great pizza served with a smile by her and her staff. Check out her specials too. They serve pizza by the slice so stop by for lunch and have a slice and a drink to try it out. You'll love it! No excuse to give it a try. They also keep this cajun seasoning on the counter called: "Slap-Your-Mama" which is great on pizza (and most everything else). From what I can tell, this is the only place to get Slap-Your-Mama in Sandpoint. read more
