Joe Dalton Sr, owner of Babe's Plumbing billed for work NOT completed. Spoke very rude and condescending on the phone. My wife and I went under contract with a home in Englewood Fl March of 2015. The home needed some repairs. Michael J Looney did the electrical work and Babe's plumbing was contracted to do the plumbing work. The plumbing work consisted of crush and fill old septic tank, run new pvc from "stub-out" of house to sewer tap, and install new waste line from kitchen sink area to sewer line. This work had to be completed before closing. These items were part of our real estate contract via addendum. When Mr Dalton sent his crew out to do the work they did not do what was on the contract. They did far less. I would have never expected this from Babes Plumbing. Especially since I have known the Dalton family ever since I was a young boy. We moved into the house on 8/1/2015. Two days after moving in on that Sunday evening. My wife turned the shower on for our children to bathe. After about 10 minutes the kids started screaming ewwe yucky and so on. Upon investigation, we realized sewage water was coming up the drain and around the base of the toilet and all over the bathroom floor. Soiling our new bath mats, shower curtain and towels to clean up the mess. Very frantic and slightly upset I called Ryan Dalton (Joe's son) on his cell phone. Ryan told me not to worry he would send someone out, and if it was Babe's error I would not be charged. He also informed me his father would contact me and take care of the issue. The Babe's employee showed up promptly and very friendly. There was a clog in the line and he dislodged it. I was out watching. I noticed that the new sewer line that was installed by Babes did not start until about 15ft or so away from the house. They left 15ft or more of the old cast iron pipe and did not hook up directly to the "stub-out". This is where the clog was. Joe Dalton never called me to discuss or apologize about the sewage water and my children's experience. Instead I had to seek him out. Once I was able to speak with the man, he was incredibly rude and spoke very adversarial, and condescending. He finally agreed to come back and install new pvc from the "stub-out" to replace the existing cast iron. Which was originally suppose to be done. Mr Dalton still never ran a line from the back of the house to the sewer line. Again that was in his contract as well. Mr Dalton blamed the bldg inspector for the lack of work performed, but yet still invoiced for it and was paid by Wells Fargo prior to our closing on the property. Mr Dalton has been in breach of contract. Mr dalton then said he was going to give Wells Fargo the refund. I said Wells Fargo has already been paid from us, the money needs to go to us since that condition was never met. He declined and supposedly sent 250 to Wells Fargo. Far cheaper than it would cost to contract a licensed plumber to do the work. If Mr Daton is shady in his business practices to those he knows, imagine what he can be capable of those who are strangers. I do not understand any of this behavior when all my wife and I were just trying to get what was agreed to in contract nothing more. Imagine if your kids bathed in feces and then the owner treats you like total scum after he has already been paid. I would also like to add that after looking at the electrical service change that Looney did. I noticed there was not a network interface bonding bridge, even though it passed inspection by the county. I brought this to Michael J Looney's attention. He apologized and informed me one of his employees would be over ASAP to fix the problem. That is what type of professional service I would expect from a local business. Two thumbs up Looney! TWO THUMBS DOWN BABES! Unreal
