By that I mean they can make it more durable, shift smoother, shift harder, etc. in my case they did a full tranny rebuild and tweaked the shift points to shift later and harder for more of a hot rod style shift. Once I got it back knowing I left it so dirty to my surprise they went beyond and vacuumed and washed my car.
