In my experience, this business took advantage of me during an emergency. They said one thing before towing my truck, but once it arrived at their shop, they changed the terms completely. My truck was towed only 7 miles and I was charged $1,726. I was told the rate was $300 per hour, then it was changed to $350 per hour without my approval. I was also told a part costs $120, but they demanded $2,759 to install it. Because of this unreasonable price, I refused the repair and did not authorize any work. Despite this, I was still charged $1,000 in labor, even though no repair work was done. I believe this shop uses misleading statements and pressures customers in difficult situations. My car should not have been towed here in the 1st place. After my car accident the police could've asked where I wanted my car towed and naturally I would have said my driveway. Instead my car was here for 8 days due to me being hospitalized for 8 days. These people show zero empathy or sympathy for someone's experience. She claimed my car wouldn't start so I had to pay another 150$ ON TOP of 1200$ to get my car out. When the tow driver dropped it off, I asked him to roll into my driveway and he rudely said " Do it yourself." I said I was told it didn't start, hence why he was towing it and he said it started right up. Id sue these people if I had the time. They are liars and money grubbing low life scum. Definitely will complain to Better Business Bureau though!! read more

My truck's water pump blew out on Interstate 86 between Savona and Campbell on December 23, 2024 at about 12 noon. After waiting in the truck without any heat, in 14 degree temperatures, for two hours for the AAA I called B&W. They responded quickly....within minutes. The technician was great and knowledgeable. The driver took me to the repair shop (a small shop that was closed at the time) and we left the truck in the lot. When the technician got back in the truck we started back to Corning and I told the Tech where I lived....it was on the way back to where he was going. He told me that the office said they couldn't drop me at my home I would have to get out at a gas station about 15 blocks from my home. I asked him where he was going and he said he was going back to the B&W shop in Gang Mills by way of Pulteney Street. I refused to get out of the truck and told him to continue to drive to an intersection on Pulteney Street about 3 blocks from my home, where I got out of the truck. Great technician but TERRIBLE customer service from the office staff in refusing to drop me at my home which was on the way...... The office staff/dispatcher need some training in providing better customer service. a possible 5-Star review got this business an only a 2-star because of the dispatcher/office staff. We paid them out early and our insurance ended up mistakingly releasing payment to them again after we already paid them. Now they refuse to return the double payment. Was allowed to work here a day and a half was told to be there by 830 was always early. When I got there the first day I was assigned to train with a guy that couldn't keep himself busy i was let go to do whatever asked what I was supposed to do was told to just keep busy it's been about 8 years since i towed so i was a bit rusty second day it continued was allowed to drive but the guy that was supposed to be training was wherever twiddling his thumbs complaining about everything so i had to stay busy sweeping and asking if anyone needed help went on lunch mind you the training guy was nowhere to be found never said a thing to even as when lunch was one of the other guys had to let me know i should go on lunch when I got back was pulled aside by the owner and told it wasn't going to work like how isn't it going to work your trainer is garbage cant get a real shake at thing if im not being shown what i can and cannot do not being shown what to do when not towing everyone else was working on cars was never assigned anything was never told to do anything and also atleast 2 of them are from pa and have no towing endorsement and per ny law In New York, Pennsylvania residents do not need a towing endorsement to drive a tow truck if their towing operations are restricted to emergency "first moves" from the site of a breakdown or crash to the nearest appropriate repair facility. If the towing operations include any "subsequent moves" from one repair or disposal facility to another, then the necessary endorsements to the vehicles being towed are required. read more

Stuck on offramp with two blown trailer tires On Sunday evening. They quickly changed out with our spares and recommended an Rv shop on our way to get new tires. Would hire again without hesitation. AAA had no one till morning And Good Sam could not find a tow company to change tires. Recommended by a good samaritan who's wife had a good experience with them. read more

It was Chistmas weekend and I was passing through Campbell NY on my way to Cornell University's equine clinic with a horse having a medical emergency. Time was critical. My horse trailer blew a tire on Route 86. My AAA membership did not cover trailers but they suggested I call B & W. I was a complete wreck on the phone, sobbing so hard they had trouble understanding me, but they were super nice to me and sent two wonderful and kind gentlemen out to help me. I have never seen a tire changed so fast. I was on my way again in no time. When I asked how much it would be they said Merry Christmas! I am so grateful to B & W--they saved my horse! read more

A person after he finished job in my house could not move his van, stayed next to my 3.5 ton trailered boat, called B&W towing. The company driver did not pay attention, pooled up the van together with a massive trailer and a boat on a SIDE up. All 4 trailer tiers squashed. Later the towing company put the trailer back, but damaged tiers can't hold air, the boat swing on a side. Besides, it is absolutely no guaranty the weal bearings survived a powerful side move. This towing company perceives itself invincible. Its owner told me over a telephone: "Do what you feel right", so I will. read more

This place is terrible. I was trying to help my elderly dad by getting his GEICO photo inspection pictures taken so I called ahead to let this place know I was coming in. The woman on the phone wasn't pleasant but she did tell me to come in 9-12 or 1-4, and because of the snow the photos wouldn't be the best quality. I live in Buffalo, NY so I had no choice but to come in and I let the woman know I would see her 1-4pm. I took the car to a local car wash so the pictures would be better, just to come into B&W and be told they aren't doing pictures. She was very rude about it! I was confused and as I tried to tell them that today was the only day I would be in town to help my dad, she interrupted me and said sorry come back tomorrow in an annoyed voice. I get in the car very upset and can't believe how badly I was talked to. I quickly looked at another nearby place that did the GEICO photos and he said come right in. It was literally down the street at Friendly Fred's and sure enough he had all the paperwork and photos done in less than 10 mins. I can't express how upset I was being turned away because of laziness. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT B&W. I am going to e-mail the GEICO hepldesk to let them know this place should be taken off their recommendation list. With service like this, this place won't be in business much longer. read more

Very legit company and supportive customer service. I am from Miami and bought a classic car from a private seller. Since it was a private deal, I did't want to leave the car at the seller's house too long. B&W picked up the car exactly as scheduled, and stored in "closed" warehouse safely as promised, which I of course paid for. I also didn't want my classic car to experience snow so it was important that they do as promised. They even picked up my car on Sunday, and B&W is closed during weekends. I explained them that the person who I bought the car from has to work during weekdays so this pick up job must be done on weekends. When I asked this extra favor, B&W told me they can help me with little extra. They charged me something very small $50 on the top of regular pick up, reasonable enough to say they are very supportive. I called at least 10 towing companies around this area and many of them did not sound like they will do as promised. B&W might not be open during the weekend when you get stuck in freezing highway with your car broken down, but is strongly recommended to give them a try under any circumstances. read more

The young lady from B & W who showed up in a matter of minutes with the tow truck was excellent. Very professional, Knowledgeable and efficient. Not to mention friendly also.
