Even that slightly sawdust scent that goes with hardware stores. Now, this store does not carry the reputation of two that I have reviewed before. But if I lived in Wimborne, I'd be a happy camper. Collandars, graters, knives, tupperware, caddies, drainers, cookwareand then hammers, nails, screws, and thingummies. They also do garden furniture, indeed, there was a very rustic looking one on display outside. I really could have spent ages snooping around, but hey ho, time is the master of our lives. No fifth star because there seems nowher to park, so how are you going to lug your goods to the car?

A Really Useful Shop!…read more This is almost a hardware store, but it's not quite. Neither is it a discount store - indeed you can pay over the odds. But if you've looked everywhere else for something, then you may well find it there. We just got a wind up/solar (laugh out loud)radio. I've been looking for one for a while to use in the garden now and then. A hard brush for the patio, half the price of the hardware store, and a soap filled washing up brush for when there's not much to wash up. They also do a range of garden tools, kitchen ware, household cleaning and phones and batteries etc. Their returns policy is not the greatest. Once I bought a ceramic casserole dish there. I could not grip the lid when it was hot, as oven gloves, tea towels, would not grasp the sunk in handle. I took it back. They refused to take it saying no one else had brought them back. Yhey offered me a credit note which I grugingly agreed to, knowing the thing was not fit for purpose. The proprietor called over an assistant to put the thing on the shelf or office or whatsit, and the young man enquired what was wrong. I told him. He lifted the casserole and tried to lift the lid - it slid from his fingers to the floor with a smashing smash. I had the punchline -'I think that illustrates my point!'.

You can get good quality S hooks here for your pots and pans; something that is hard to find in North American kitchen stores -- that is because we rarely get European quality items. Great selection of kitchen scale (albeit expensive) and molds for chocolate and cookie cutters. Pastry chefs would not be disappointed. I wish my luggage could fit the 8" round cake liners. Superb customer service. After endless food photography and scenery shots, I ran out of memory on my SD card, they carry that as well. If only we weren't travelling on backpacks... 160 Canadian dollars later, yikes. My husband should have hidden my credit card in a jar of lard, but the new additions are going to be well loved. What a lovely shop!

I have popped in many times on the off chance that they've got a right handed thingamy-jig or similar, and only once have they been unable to help me (and were seriously apologetic to boot)! This is service as it should be - the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and polite. The prices are sensible - only marginally more expensive than B&Q in most cases (and much cheaper overall when you consider that you don't have to drive that far). Absolutely fantastic I can't believe this type of shop still exists, but I'm very glad it does.

I like visiting the surplus stores in Ringwood but it's a place I can only go on my own. There is…read moreno way you can take a pushchair into the shop as the aisles are way too narrow. Over the years that have added more and more stock to the same sized space. Whilst you can go in and find nearly everything you may want or need, you will struggle to go around the piles of stock on the floors as well as shelves. It's always cold in the shop which is a shame as it puts me off sometimes from going in. The staff are always lovely though and give you a smile.
