I've been here several times for all kinds of help with my little flat, from hanging pictures to sorting out shelves in my bathroom, the A Bradbury fella are always there with the advice and tools that I need. It's not that expensive but it is a small shop so don't expect t find everything you need to build a house here, just the bits to fix it. A Bradbury's has been on Broadway Market for decades and you'll see photos of the store in the 70s hanging up by the till. It's an institution!

Sunday morning, off to India in 6 hours for 3 weeks and realised that I needed some keys…read moremade for a friend, so my mail wouldn't pile up in my building lobby and provide some sort of indicator to probing burglars. Don't fear, Rose's was here! Firstly, I was thankful to find somewhere to get keys cut on a Sunday. Secondly, the staff were really nice and they did a fantastic job cutting key copies where other key cutters had failed. I now visit this shop to get all sorts of hardware and home needs. They carry some particularly lethal drain unclogger which is so strong it is sold in a thick plastic bottle within a heavy cardboard box. The guys here are quite helpful, highly recommended shop!

Asda Living has two floors , downstairs you have electrical items , eg. tv's, vacuum cleaners and they sell books, light bulbs,games for all the consoles,baby items and toys.Upstairs there is a coffee shop which is a nich touch , they have good choices of sandwiches and baguettes and have great tasting coffee.Also upstairs are all the clothes and a few beauty products.I should also mention you get free parking.

There is an especially good choice of bathrooms and accessories. The staff seem friendly enough and the odd occasion I've needed help they've been pretty good. Homebase has the added advantage of having a loyalty scheme which I don't think the other main players do. I think Homebase does tend to be slightly more expensive than other DIY stores but they also seem to have better offers so it balances out.

There is a lot here, but I did feel like I was being talked down to a bit, probably because I didn't look like or sound like I knew exactly what I wanted, maybe the guy was having a bit of a bad day, dunno, but didn't make me want to hang around. I proceeded to ask if they can weigh it and they said we don't have any scales. so they just couldn't be bothered to lift a parcel and put it round the back . I have used this store for 95% of the items I needed to refurbish my house. They have provided recommended plumbers and plasterers, all of whom have been first rate. On one occasion, the owner even gave me a lift home with my shelves. Now that's service! I just wanted to add that, in my view, we and our council reps need to create laws/rules to ensure that a resonable % of shops are independents (i.e. interesting - remember interesting venues? I do). Do we want just StarBucks and Costa Coffee shops? - No (unless you are a drone). SB and CC are probably good businesses in their own right but we just want (nay, need) variety. End of sermon.
