Homebase in Loudwater is easy to get to with plenty of free parking. It is a nice store with lots of homewares as well as the usual DIY tools etc. It also has a garden section with a pretty good choice. There is an especially good choice of bathrooms and accessories. The staff seem friendly enough and the odd occasion I've needed help they've been pretty good. Homebase has the added advantage of having a loyalty scheme which I don't think the other main players do. I think Homebase does tend to be slightly more expensive than other DIY stores but they also seem to have better offers so it balances out. read more

I really like this store, it is bright, clean and airy. It has a good selection of items covering most things needed in the home and garden. The aisle are wide and you can browse at your leisure. They often have excellent promotions on, where you can pick up a bargain. There is also ample free parking. read more

This is far better than it's other store on the London Road; it's bigger, cleaner and has ample parking. It's better for things like home furnishings etc. rather than building or painting supplies which are cheaper at B&Q or Focus. The building is a relatively modern one with wide aisles and good disabled access. read more

After buying my first property last January, one which required quite a bit of work doing to it, Homebase at Loudwater has become like my second home. I regularly find myself popping there most weekends to get some much needed equipment or product for a DIY related activity. The range in store is excellent and is great value for money. While not as cheap as Wickes & B&Q, these places are often aimed at those in the trade, so you often find yourself purchasing far more than you need at these stores so works out the same in the long run, as you never end up using the excess! The staff are very helpful at Homebase and I've always found it easy to return items that I ended up not needing (as long as you keep the recepit otherwise they can only offer you an exchange) read more
