This was the worst experience I've ever had. I don't like writing negative reviews, but I feel people should know about my experience before trusting this shop with their vehicle. After approx. 10 days and a $950 charge, including a $300 diagnostic charge. I was given the car back with the exact same problem I originally brought the car in for. The shop misdiagnosed the problem, replaced the wrong part, then said the replacement part was defective and replaced it again. When that still didn't fix the problem, I was told they didn't know what was wrong and that I should take the vehicle to a dealer. I later identified the problem with AI assistance, and my neighbor fixed it with an $80 part. I strongly recommend doing your homework and reading the LOWEST reviews before choosing this shop. Some customers may have had good experiences, but mine was extremely disappointing. I'm posting this so others can make an informed decision. According to AI a reputable shop will return your money. Didn't happen here.

I first went to a different shop in PA which sent me here because they thought the whole transmission was bad (I was skeptical of this because to me it really felt like the clutch was slipping, but I figured a transmission place would still be able to work on a clutch, whereas a regular shop might not be able to do transmission work if that was actually the problem). Bayview could have taken advantage of me because they knew I was stuck out of town and had a 2-3 week lead time for most work. They also could have told me that it was the transmission and charged a lot for fixing that. However, they agreed that it was just the clutch and got me in and out with a new clutch in under 2 days. Being a city slicker, I also ended up actually saving money overall, since labor charges are relatively low here compared to in Seattle. The new clutch felt great from the start (unlike the bad one that grated and crunched in 1 and R from the beginning, which the installers refused to acknowledge, despite the grating and crunching continuing for almost 2 years) and has been performing as expected since. If I ever needed a transmission rebuild that wasn't an emergency situation, I might honestly consider coming out here for the work and making a trip out of it. Also, the desk people were super nice!
