What can say about Poundland that you don't already know? Well I'll start with the obvious fact…read morethat everything is a pound (duh). It has to be said that the quality varries massively, but there are some real bargains to be had if you spend some time looking. It might also suprise you to know that not everything is a bargain, for example some of the impulse buys like childrens sweets can often be bought cheaper elsewhere, and batteries that only last an hour are not a bargain at any price. If you haven't been in yet, then take the stick out of your ase and give it a try, if for no other reason than to look at some of the crp people will buy.

You get what you pay for, everything is a pound so don't expect too much. Its good for those basic items though and the staff seem really friendly too. So have a mooch!

By chance I happened to go into Robin Elt Shoes in Worcester to look for some walking boots…read more I had tried Millets and to be honest was a little bit disappointed. So we went into Robin Elt shoes as my Fiancé said that Ecco boots were good and they had a sign for them here. Were were so glad we went in, the shop isn't big but has quality foot ware. On entering a shop assistant in a suit ( yes a suit ) came across and basically helped us try on some walking boots. He was straight out of the good old days. Incredibly well mannered, knowledgeable and really nice to us. Needless to say as the boots were great we immediately brought them. Its been a long time since I have had such a nice experience in a shop and will probably go back there next time, even though its in a another country! If only all customer service was like this.

While visiting Worcester on business I took a look in Robin Elt Shoes with no intention whatsoever…read moreof doing anything other than looking around the shop. It is a traditional shoe shop of the kind that sadly, has largely disappeared from the High Street. It had a broad range of quality shoes, including classic brogues and welted leather sole construction(highest quality) footwear. Noticeable were the helpful friendly staff. The quality of the products on display in Robin Elt were in such great contrast to the shoddily-made plastic items I see in many other' shoe shops' that 'I purchased a pair of 'Barkers' Northamptonshire-made gent's shoes. and at a fraction of the price that I would have had to pay at most other 'quality' outlets that sell Barkers/Loakes/ TecNic'/ Grenson footwear. They even had shoes in 'half' sizes - a rare thing today. In terms of the 'ease of purchase' (friendly knowledgeable shop staff who were not 'pushy' or overbearing) , the 'ambience' (the shop is traditional, no gimmicks), and excellence of the product sold: I give 'Robin Elt a 'five star' rating. They are as 'good as it gets' Thank you to the staff at the Worcester shop.

The range of shoes for children, ladies and mens although not large is always up to the minute. there are normally some great offers to be had in the sales too.

Nice Building with lots to look at…read more The Gallery was very well laid out, with lots of interesting pictures in a wide variety of formats and textures. The musuem was interesting to, with artfacts from the Worcester area. Building entrance is very impressive with a large stair case, leading up to a coffee shop and the gallery and musuem. The library is round the back. There is also a gift shop selling postcards and other stuff.

The people were really nice and I don't know how we would had sorted it without them! It has alot more choice than other Millets do asweel because it is much bigger- upstairs and downstairs! A bit dissapointed with the range of womens clothing though.
