We stopped by for my bday last year and it was such a charming experience. It's one I recommend…read moreduring these gorgeous spring months for plant lovers and nature seekers. Despite growing up around here, I somehow never stumbled through these grand entrance gates until recently. This gem of a garden isn't just my butt's savior now on long drives up from LA, but it's a sliver of paradise found--and sanity regained. Just walking around here for 15-20 mins. and you'll feel your blood pressure drop a few notches to a pleasant state of calm. You can explore the themed areas, take in the vegetation around you, and get landscaping tips just from strolling around their property. The plant things are grouped in various climate/hemispheres and it's nice to see them taking root and being incorporated in a seamless design (and it's nice shopping experience too). I was impressed with the selection and bought a few small air plants and succulents that are still thriving with offshoots. Prices are reasonable. For pros looking for inspo, I think this place that can offer Interior Designers & Landscapers creativity with plants. Or even the DIY Weekend Warrior looking to revamp their current landscaping or add a little something new to it. They have a wide variety of exotics, California natives to indigenous to Australia, and every other tree, shrub, and greenery in between. Since it's the year of the (hobby) horse, I'll be sure to get my butt up here more often in 2026.

As lovers of nature and plants we decided to add it to our itinerary and I'm glad we did. It's just off the 101 freeway and it's massive! You can buy plants, take a walk around the paths, and even peruse the gift shop. They have some cool, fun, and unique gifts that are perfect for everyone. Such a peaceful and beautiful garden that I highly recommend adding to your travels or checking out if you're local.

I have bought two plants here on two separate occasions now (string of pearls and octopus plant). I…read morehave been extremely unhappy with both purchases. Shortly after bringing the string of pearls home I noticed it had a fungus gnats issue. The octopus plant I brought home on a separate occasion died 3 days later even after caring for it as directed. With that said, I have a green thumb and have been successfully able to keep 9 other indoor plants (from other places) alive and 4 outdoor plants (from other places) alive. I called island view to ask if there was anything they could do such as an exchange and the man seemed unwilling to budge and ultimately tried to blame me for the issues. NEVER buying plants here again!!!! I like to support local but not if the customer service is poor. Unfortunately, since the CS is poor, I will be continuing to buy my plants from big box stores such as Home Depot, ACE, and grocery stores. This sounds crazy, but I SWEAR by grocery store plants - all of the ones I have bought at grocery stores (Trader Joe's, Albertsons, etc.) have lasted 2 years and counting!!! As stated in previous reviews BUYER BEWARE!!!

The staff are nice and very willing to help. Only complaint would be that many times they aren't very helpful as far as plant-knowledge goes. So if you have specific plant questions don't have high expectations. Otherwise it's a great nursery.
