Arrived in Sioux Falls and stopped at B&G Milkyway for some dinner before heading to my hotel downtown. Classic walk-up joint with hot food items and a wild variety of ice creams, ice cream concoctions, and slushes. I ordered a hot dog, a corn dog and a cherry slush. Service was curt but efficient. Hot dog and corn dog were basic but good. Just what I ordered, hot and fresh (as fresh as hot dog and a likely frozen corn dog can be haha). I didn't love the cherry slush. Maybe it's just that I'm not 8 any more but it was WAYYYY too sweet for me and the cherry flavoring tasted off. I'd go back to try some of their other food and drinks. read more

My spouse and I participated in their avalanche contest promotion. If you went to 9 of the 10 listed places and got stamps you would receive a free small avalanche. We went to 9 Milkyways. We purchased 18 avalanches and had 18 stamps. With one exception where we had a different vehichle so got a different card from that Milkyway for that stamp. They reassured us that would be fine. We attempted to collect our free avalanches with our stamped cards and were denied. DENIED. We spent 126$ and drove to Tea, Brandon, Harrisburg and all over Sioux Falls to accomplish this. They stated the stamps had to be on the same card. The card does NOT say this and we were reassured that the one stamp would be fine. They treated us like we were trying to cheat the system. They refused to honor 2 free small avalanches to 2 very loyal customers. This is insane business. We are soooo dispointed in your customer service. We put the money and the time into your promotion and you refused to honor it. Sooo disappointed in a local business.‍ read more

Summer time walk up ice cream shop. They also serve some food. This place is an icon and reminds me of the ice cream place I went as a child after baseball games. There is four tables outside and no inside area. They serve typical cones and ice cream treats plus icey drinks. Good place to go for a cool down. Long line moved fast. read more

Was there over Labor Day weekend, saw DQ everywhere but I was in a greedy mood. I wanted a HUGE milkshake, passed by this place on the way to the car wash. This puts you in the mind of the DQ's that are not the Braziers--you have to stay outside. So I walk up to the window, see more choices for milkshakes than I've EVER seen in my entire life!! I order 6 different flavors to merge in the creaminess. Got the MONSTER sized. $7.84 wasn't bad for the biggest size with everything I so love. It was so cold you could see the "ice smoke" coming from the cup. It was so thick, she had to thin it out so I could used the straw. After she was done, it was ice cream utopia. They serve food too but I was about the cream. My greediness was far beyond satisfied. I'll try other ice cream joints while I'm there but will be sure to come here as this is perfect. read more

Hello! I'm here to write a review of my favorite place in Sioux Falls (SD), B&G Milkyway. It's an ice cream stand, and I've been going there ever since I was a little kid. Let's see. .. where do I start? How about with the chocolate malt?! The chocolate malt is the canary in the coal mine of any ice cream stand or soda fountain. If they can't make a good chocolate malt, you might as well just never go back. B&G has the best chocolate malt ever. It's even better if you add marshmallow (and if you're a real rockstar, you'll try a straight marshmallow malt) -- but then, isn't everything? If you're like most people, you'll come to B&G for a simple soft-serve cone, perhaps dipped in chocolate, or if you're into food colorings, cherry. Lots of folks get into the slushwhips, too, which are like milkshakes crossed with slushees or slurpees. Apparently they taste way better than they sound. For the best B&G experience, go to the 12th St. store. It's the original, and you can eat your malt out on the stone wall surrounding the sign. Go. read more

Best icecream ever. I love getting a grasshopper avalanche when I am in town. I also love to grab a foot long chili cheese dog too. The service is wonderful and the owners are a hoot! Came for an ice cream snack with my parents. Ordered a Reese's "avalanche" and a "banana split". I got the avalanche and it looked like vanilla ice cream mixed with two or three pieces or chocolate (what I assumed was the Reese's candy) I kindly asked for more Reese's candy and told I would need to be charged extra. LOL. I decided to not take it. My mom got her banana split and it was like, such a sad excuse for a banana split. The thing had like five or six small circular slices of banana, one little cherry, a line of chocolate syrup and literally just a pinch of peanuts. It was mostly vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. I don't think these girls have ever seen what a banana split actually looks like (an entire you know, split banana, three scoops of ice cream with three cherries and topped with syrup and nuts.) My mother also asked for more complete toppings and was told they "have" to charge her extra. What a joke. Honestly, this is just bad business. They lose money by me not purchasing that negligible ice cream versus dumping another scoop of Reese's into my ice cream cup and not charging me for it.... not sure what's going on here. Maybe rethink business practices? We don't recommend this place and we won't be returning. read more

I didn't think this place was anything special. Not sure why it gets 4stars. Maybe I'm missing something... I got a soft serve cup of vanilla ice cream with the chocolate sauce that turns into a hard shell. The ice cream was creamy and pretty good but the chocolate shell had little taste and wasn't worth the calories in my opinion. B&Gs is the best. It doesn't matter which location you visit. They have wonderful ice cream and it's lower calorie content beats the competition. (See their sheet in the stores.) The food is really good there, too, just not really good for you. LOVE IT! read more

My first go here I was disappointed in how teeny my "small" sundae was. I mean baby small. My son loves the place so decided to try again. Dropped by for a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Avalanche while visiting some friends in Sioux Falls. For those that don't know, an Avalanche is the B&G version of a Blizzard. The ice cream was good so no complaints there. The only thing preventing a five star review is the lack of peanut butter cups. read more

This is a seasonal place, summer only! Had a dip cone and it was the BEST. Great prices for the portions. Chocolate dip is better than the toffee dip IMO. Pretzel buns for the hot dogs is a must, but not available for the foot long. Kind of a awkward drive up, but not horrible. Friendly, speedy service. read more

Horrible serves probably will not go back the stuff there don't know how to give change back or let alone to give you to right order even through they repeat your back to you and then after they figured out my order the ice cream was malted. Their strawberry icecream is the best in town but when I paid $6 for three simple cones I would expect icecream to be inside the cone. nope only one inch down from the top on all three cones, the rest was just a hollow cone. I stopped to by with myself and 3 children to get ice cream. we had a a long wait at the window inside so we were able to observe the food preparation. NO ONE used gloves with the food preparation. We observed them handle cash and go pick up buns ,lettuce ect. with bare hands, no hand washing!. They joked about dropping a berger and serving it the night before. The girls and I were shocked.
