Had 4 glass block windows in my basement replaced. The whole process was fast and easy. Kyle did a nice and quick job on the installation.

Out of the blue, we had a glass shatter in one of our front windows and needed to be replaced. It…read morewas the inside glass of a double-pane, tempered-eGlass window. This had happened to us several years ago on a double-pane glass doorwall, also with just one pane shattered, ruling out an object hitting the window. The remaining likely causes are sudden temperature change or settling of the house. I checked Yelp and picked out a few window-replacement companies that were highly rated. I called each of them to ask for ballpark estimates. We had previously used the services of Henderson Glass so they were one of my first calls. I got estimates from three companies but, as I closed in on making a decision, our governor closed almost everything down because of Covid-19, including window companies, unless it was a board-up situation. Slow-forward a couple of months, and window companies were allowed to go back to work. So I dusted off my previous list and called several companies again, including Henderson. I ended up requesting a free estimate from another highly-rated company with a lower price range over the phone. They were available to come out within a few days. They showed up and checked out our problem window. They quickly determined that the type of wooden-casement windows that we have are not ones they could work on and the price would be considerably higher. I then contacted Henderson and confirmed that they could handle the type of windows that we have, and we set up an appointment with them. They were able to come out for a free estimate within a few days. They measured and gave me a firm quote, which was a fair price. So we placed the order. I was told it would take 7-10 days for the replacement to be constructed and that they would then call to schedule installation. It did come in less than a week later, and we scheduled an appointment for installation. On that day, they called in advance to tell me they were on their way and then showed up promptly! As with everyone I've dealt with, the installer was professional and polite. He quickly removed the damaged window and took it to his truck to put in the new glass. He reinstalled the window and cleaned up inside and out. I had previously confirmed with their office that they do have a discount for Veterans and told me the total adjusted amount. That was a nice plus. We have used them previously and have always been happy with the results; now add this to those experiences!

That being said, I ordered a bathroom mirror and a new shower door in 02/24. Was told it would be 10-14 days (I assumed business days) 4 weeks later I am calling and finally both are ready to be installed. The 5 ft. mirror was pricey ($1000.00) for a bathroom mirror and the shower door as well ($1326.00) installed. The 1st shower door had scratches, they returned to fix, didn't work, told us they would have to re-order, so NOW, THREE months later they will install the new shower door, hope it works! Considering the price, I am very disappointed

We recently contracted Alco Glass to replace two severely cracked countertops. The process…read moreinitially appeared smooth, and the installation tech presented himself professionally. However, once the installation was completed, our experience declined significantly. The installer left immediately after finishing the job without inviting us to review the work or confirm that it met our expectations. Upon inspection, we discovered several issues that were concerning. The silicone caulking was applied poorly, with uneven lines and visible gaps that should not have been present. In some areas, the silicone was not properly adhered and could easily be pulled away, which raises concerns about both durability and safety. Despite two return visits to address the issue, the caulking remains substandard and visually unprofessional. He claimed to us he had a "hard time seeing" but was not wearing glasses the first time he came back. He wore glasses the 2nd time he retuned to fix the issues, but that didn't seem to help. He also left silicone on several parts of the solid counter itself and did not wipe it away. Additionally, one of the glass countertops appears to have been cut unevenly, resulting in odd gaping between the edges on both sides. When we asked about this, we were told there were "Tolerances" allowed when cutting. I can't believe that such a difference would be allowed that it caused the gap to be wider on one side than the other. The installer also removed the white foam that had been placed between the glass and the wooden frame beneath. Rather than consulting us about replacing it, he simply colored the exposed wood with black marker and installed the glass over it. Because the glass is transparent, the wood is clearly visible, creating an unattractive and inconsistent appearance compared to our existing countertops. When we inquired about the missing foam, the installer stated that there had never been any material between the glass and the wood, which is inaccurate. Our other countertops clearly show the same white foam in place. You can even see on the wood where he colored in the remaining pieces of foam he couldn't remove with a sharpie. Furthermore, when we pointed out a noticeable gap in the silicone between the glass and the solid countertop, we were told it "could not be filled," which we find difficult to understand. Another concern is that the installer consistently left the premises before we had the opportunity to review the work, preventing any real-time feedback or approval of the completed job. Overall, we are very disappointed with the quality of workmanship and the lack of communication throughout the installation process. At this point, we will likely need to redo the silicone ourselves or hire another professional to correct the issues. Given this experience, and the fact that it cost over $2000 for such shoddy work, we would not consider using Alco Glass again for future projects.
