I found this place through my good friend Errol M's yelp review, thanks Errol! I was looking to offload a couple pieces of gold (since gold is at an all-time high) and gemstone jewelry that I once loved but haven't worn in many years. It's really hard to know how to get a fair price for these things, and so it really comes down to trust (and maybe a little research). Plus, I was worried I really didn't have enough for someone to be interested in. But after speaking with Alon on the phone I felt like it didn't matter what I had; he would take a look. I already felt good about him from just the phone chat and after meeting him in person I was very confident he was the right guy and 100 percent trustworthy. He provided a helpful education regarding the gold/gemstones history and current market, and a bit about his background and expertise too. A different, highly-rated buyer down the street was kind and fair but could not help identify all the unusual colored stones I had. Alon took the time to inspect and measure everything individually and sent to a lab to confirm the three he wasn't sure of. I was so impressed with Alon. Seriously. This is THE place to go to sell jewelry that you either ended up with (that isn't suited to your taste) or just don't care for anymore. His workspace is in a cozy little converted house shared with a few other businesses, which I found pleasant and convenient. There's no pretense in the setting-- just a room with a few chairs, tables, and cabinets. He's efficient but also quite personable, and willing to educate you about what you have, what he's willing to pay, and what your other options might be. The amount he offered seemed reasonable to me, and I left with a check in hand that I think we both could feel good about. I'm glad the little old trinkets I brought in will get new life either as part of something new and beautiful, or on their own old-fashioned merits. I doubt I'll ever sell to anyone else again as long as he's available.
