Incredible Cuban food! Visiting from NY and had the Cuban sandwich, chicken and cheese empanada, guava and cheese empanada, and flan. I wish this place was closer to me! You will not regret coming here for the food and excellent service. Thank you!

Tried for the first time tonight via Uber Eats. We ordered a little bit of different things to get an idea. We ordered the bistec de palomilla, boiled yuca, fried yuca, congri, pork, and the tostones rellenos. I loved both forms of yuca and the congri. The mojo sauce is perfect. My son enjoyed the steak. My mom liked the tostones with the ropa vieja. The portion of pork we got was a little dry for our liking. The photos all look amazing on here so maybe it was just an off night. Overall, I would recommend.

After dinner we were craving something sweet, so we looked up donuts and desserts in our yelp app. This Cuban restaurant and bakery came up as a close possibility. With a name meaning "sugar", we thought this might be the right place. When we entered, the restaurant was empty, but the two cases of pastries offered a lot of possibilities. All kinds of cookies-- some with different fruits and dulce de leche, flans, puddings, and other desserts. We decided to sit. The lone guy manning the counter delivered everything to our table. We tried their flan -- a little denser than I usually like, needing a tad more caramel syrup; a Napoleon with very flaky pastry and a very sweet sugar icing; and the best of the lot was their rice pudding which was creamy and very cinnamony. The bustello cafecito (small coffee) was very good. I can't speak for the rest of their food, but it's a full service Cuban restaurant in addition to the bakery part. They had a lunch special still listed on the board, and a variety of traditional entrees on a two sided printed take out menu.

The steak was over cooked for a steak thats 2/4 inch thick thats sad so much rice to barely give one scoop of beans to share as two meals when everything was ordered idk but could be better man overall Needs Improvements work on steak cooking & how you portion stuff nobody wants tons of white rice what ima do with 4 cups of rice and one scoop of black beans waste of containers could have kept more food together hence warmer better for everyone and environment...

In a strip mall, situated few doors by Uncle Rico's Pizzeria, there is a Dru's West Indian Roti…read moreShop. A quick look tells you this is more a take-out with 3 inside tables. Roti originated from Indian continent but also popular in West Indian like Guyana. This Roti Shop was in our minds for years. Finally, we walked in to try the West Indian Roti. My wife asks me, "You know the difference between Roti and Naan?". According to her, Roti is an unleavened flatbread with whole wheat flour sometime with oil or butter that cooked in a griddle or skillet whereas Naan is a leavened flatbread make with refined flour some time with milk and yogurt in a tandoor or clay oven." She went on and told me that Naan is thicker and softer. Roti is generally eaten with curries and dals. There are two rotis available here, paratha, a buttery flatbread or Dhal Puri, a flatbread filled with split peas and lentils. The menu is simple, you can use roti to wrap your choice of curried chicken, shrimp or goat, or use the roti to dip into your favorite curried items or curried items over rice with roti! We ordered a shrimp roti meal with Dhal Puri and a double plain roti wrap. The double plain roti is sweet and savory. The curried shrimp with peas, potatoes are well prepared and simmered with aroma. It hits the spot. We shared a pineapple soda. The ambiance here is simple. A small TV with a few pictures on the wall and the several Guyana flags. The tables are not shiny, but they are clean. It is homely and the food is good! Amazing discovery in Fort Myers! If you want to try West Indian Roti, this place is for you.
