2014 tattoo: I am client of Carlos. I had my baby daughter's portrait done on my chest. It was during the tattoo convention in Rosemont in 2014. Carlos was very professional. The tattoo turned out perfect, right out of the picture. Carlos is an awesome artist and I would go back to him for more tattoos. I was absolutely floored with his art. New review for 2016 tattoo: Once I was ready to have my back piece done, I knew that I had to go back to Carlos. I travel over 90 miles one way to have him do my tattoos. He is presently doing a 3rd session on my back piece. During the first 2 sessions, Carlos was very sensitive and professional towards my needs while sitting all day/night long. Carlos is a very likable person and does beautiful job on tattoos. He is very detailed oriented and aims to make his art as perfect as possible. I cannot want to show off my back piece as it is a very beautiful work. I am definitely looking forward to finishing up this piece and then I will do another portrait of my older daughter. If you need a realism tattoo, Carlos is your man! read more

I was referred to Aztek Ink by a friend and loved the amazing art work done by Carlos. I scheduled my appointment with him that same day we sat down for a few minutes and I explained to him what I wanted done. I've seen multiple friends get tattoos at different parlors and the energy is not the same as Aztek Ink. When you are there you feel chill, everyone is laid back, and they make you feel comfortable. The day of my appointment he showed me the stencil and it was by far so much better than I expected, he listened to my every detail and created an amazing art piece! I was so nervous since it was my first tattoo and this piece was going to cover my entire forearm. As soon as I saw that stencil I was so excited. Carlos is very professional and creative, he is very confident in his work. I had the best experience ever being there. Carlos keeps everything extremely clean while he's tattooing you and he is very focused, his work is very detailed. I love my tattoo, and I am extremely grateful to him for the time he put in and the work he did. read more

Aztek Ink was the BEST tattoo shop I have gone to. They immediately accepted me as a walk-in (even though my tattoo was scheduled to take 3 hours). BOOTS IS AN AMAZING ARTIST!!! He exceeded my expectations and put in an extra hour of work (for free). Boots pays very close attention to detail and his realistic art skills are crazy. He definitely is my new tattoo artist for any future tats. Here's a few other things about Aztek: -It is very clean; they show you that they take the instruments out of the autoclave/ open the package for the first time -It's a chill environment and cool looking on the inside -Very comfortable waiting room and tattoo chair -Super talented staff -The cost of the tattoo was more than other artists had quoted me, but it was WELL worth the money...if I had gone with the cheaper options, it definitely would have showed. I am so glad I paid the extra money because the tattoo ended up better than I had ever imagined it to be. read more

I've been able to experience one of the best tattoo artist, Illinois has to offer if not one of the best in the US. I've only been able to have 2 sessions so far on my half sleeve-shoulder-chest tattoo, but the detail and skill that has already been done gets 5 stars automatically. With one more session left on this one tattoo, I can only imagine how amazing it will turn out. The artist that I've been dealing with is Carlos. From what I've been able to hear, he's been doing this his whole life and it shows! You bring him an idea and he sculps that idea into a work of art. he goes above and beyond in giving you that much more to what you originally wanted. The detail and precision he adds to the art piece gives it so much depth that it's literally like looking at a picture in an art book. Highly recommend Carlos and his shop Aztek Ink. You will not be disappointed, I can promise you that! read more

Such a Great Shop. Extremely clean and Sterile, The staff was pleasant and the environment is inviting. I had the absolute pleasure of being tattooed by Ian Johnson, who is phenomenal. Very professional, patient, great personality and extremely knowledgeable . I will definitely recommend this shop and it's Artist. I witness others having consultations and they were not only pleasant but knowledgeable about their craft. Even witnessed an artist being honest about a finger tattoo, where she told the potential client that wouldn't be a great place because it would grow off the finger tips and ultimately it would be a waste of time and money, that in it self showed that it's not just about making a quick buck there, they care about clients . read more

Let me start by stating that this was my very first tattoo! This shop is the only place I will ever get tattooed. I live in Florida now and I'm coming back to get my tattoo done here so that should tell you how high my trust is with Aztek! Everyone here is so talented and so good at what they do! I wouldn't hesitate to get tattooed by anyone here! Carlos is amazing to work with! I am getting tattooed by Britney in December and haven't worked with her before but she immediately started the design process and listened to everything i wanted and created something so amazing! I am beyond excited to get it done. Everyone here is a pleasure to work with! I recommend them to everyone! You won't regret it! The work speaks for itself! read more

I was always hesitant on getting tattoos. Specifically because I feel the quality isn't always there. Not when you get a tat from Aztek Ink. I have hand tattoos that look like I just got them done. Ian is truly talented, as he can help collab with you on exactly what you want and how it should look. They have state of the art equipment and everything is clean. Since the shop runs on appointment the environment isnt stuffy and crowded, so you get the feeling of everything being on your time. Most importantly all the artists are friendly and professional, you can tell just from being there for a few minutes that this place is super legit! read more

All the artist at Aztek Ink are amazingly talented!! My artist was Boots. And he paid close attention to the design that I wanted and kept in mind my budget. He absolutely nailed it! I'm a little bit on the conservative side and my tattoo was on my sternum. He helped me stay covered up and decent, lol. He made me feel really comfortable and relaxed throughout the whole session. It is by far my most favorite tattoo I have!! The shop is very clean. The artists are friendly and a very talented group. They each come with their own style in tattooing to serve different needs. I would highly recommend Aztek Ink for your next tattoo. read more

I have tattoos from different artists, but none of them have the skill or technique like the artists at Aztek Ink. These guys are very professional and very talented; I know they even amaze each other. If you ask them for a design, they do their homework and give you the best they can do... no shortcuts! Getting professional and beautiful tattoos is what's important, you are going to live with them for the rest of your life. You don't want to have some hack job done. I love my tattoo from Carlos. Had my appointment yesterday with Carlos for some peonies I wanted on my leg/hip and I couldn't be happier with the results! The first session turned out exactly how i wanted, if not better. The shop itself is clean and well kept and I had a TV with my choice of Netflix or Amazon right in front of me so I had something to distract me for the 5 hour session. As for Carlos, he's friendly, professional, and extremely talented. He's the best tattoo artist I've had work on me so far and I plan on coming back for any future tattoos read more

I recently got a tattoo and it surpassed my expectations. As soon as you enter , you are greeted and attended to. They give you options from their 4 artist and their work. He was friendly , respectful, and knows what he is doing . Has a good eye !!! I highly recommend this place and will be my go to ! Love my tattoo!!! read more

My boyfriend & I were in Aztek Ink this weekend for him to get an eagle piece on his forearm from Carlos. I have to say, we both agreed that this was the best shop we have been to. Everyone in the shop was extremely friendly, especially Carlos. The shop was super clean, super organized, and overall just a place where you can tell that all of the employees really care. The piece turned out even better than we could imagine, both of us will definitely be back in the future. read more

I spent over a year looking for an artist who could handle the full sleeve project I wanted to undertake. Stumbled upon Boots on Instagram and was immediately sold on his abilities. I took a vague idea with some visual aids and he has blown every expectation I had out of the water. Excellent dude, easy to talk to and hang out with for upwards of 8 hours, and does phenomenal work. Absolutely recommend this shop. You pay for quality and to me it was worth every penny. read more

Carlos did both my calfs recently. I have had many tattoos, but had my best experience with Carlos. Very professional, considerate, and a cc guy. When you get a tattoo, you want someone who enjoys what they do. You will be able to instantly tell that he loves his work, and that he is great at it. His attention to detail is awesome and I love his art. Go see him. Besides the pain you will get the best experience possible and a KILLER tattoo! read more
