Went there for the first time today because I was craving Mexican food and omg, I was actually very surprised. When we came, there were three people in front of us and no one else there. I ordered the Birria tacos and Barbacoa tacos. My husband ordered the quesadilla and the mamalona burger. We wanted to try some foods we were familiar with so we can compare and also try new styles of foods we haven't had before. My husband said the mamalona burger tasted very fresh, hearty bite and that he couldn't put it down. I'm not a big burger person so I didn't have much opinion on it when I took a bite out of his food lol. Their barbacoa tacos were fresh and tasty and not dry. I love their birria tacos. It was the right amount of seasoning and flavor (not too salty). Their quesadilla was okay in my opinion. I was hoping for more cheese lol. The ambience is nice. Their tent kept everything inside warm and when we stepped inside, I was reminded of my time in Mexico. It was a nice "escape" for awhile as we ordered food and ate there. I came with my husband, We order a quesadilla, agua fresca and 3 tacos of fajitas and 3 tacos of pastor. We came on a tuesday for the $1 pastor tacos. The guy at the front charged us 2 quesadilla and $2 for the pastor tacos. We told him we only ordered 1 quesadilla and he bought us 2 we let him know. All he said was "oh yea i did" And he said you can just take it to go. My husband didn't want to be rude. So we said yes that's fine. We told him about him charging us more for the pastor tacos said that I needed to tell him it was from the special and said he can't do a refund because the tacos special come with 1 tortillas and less meat not 2 torillas. I ordered a barbacoa burrito but was disappointed in the presentation I went to get my order fixed waited a long time to get my food . Once I got my food I was disappointed once again the burrito was so thin . I usually love getting this burrito my husband and I can split it since it's usually stuffed with meat. I really want to give mom & pop joints five stars. The food here is actually deserving of seven stars. Problem is, I've not received what I ordered in three separate visits -- over a one year period. A little background on this place: It began in the last couple of years as a food truck parked along TX 146 in Bacliff. There might have been a couple of picnic tables. Over time, they added more picnic tables ... then a modular (plastic) roof and a few lights. At some point, they added a few potted palm trees and some vinyl walls (a la - a rental-type tent) and a few strings of lights. For all intents and purposes, Aztecs Xitaly is a brick-and-mortar restaurant. It's been pretty amazing to watch this place grow and thrive. The folks here are friendly. They accept credit cards. The food is served hot and fresh. But when I order a barbacoa taco, it's because that's what I'm jonesing for. If I order something with chicharrones as the protein, it's quite disappointing to learn that they have no chicharrones. These are fried pork rinds, after all, and there are a slew of them in every chip aisle south of Oklahoma City. Perhaps my three visits here were just unlucky for me. Truth is, I've received incorrect orders at just about every restaurant I've visited more than 3-4 times. It happens. But three consecutive times -- all three times? I'll be back, because the food here is that good. These folks have the recipes down. I just hope that I can come back here and add another star after a couple of correct orders. read more

I wish I could rate 5 stars but this is mostly for the seafood truck on the right. The truck on the left has been very good and very quick with service. The truck in the right, we waited 45 minutes total for our food which was just fried food. They seemed to have forgotten our order because two people after us got theirs before us, and it didn't come out until another 15 minutes after my husband said something. Unfortunately it is not good. I got the popcorn shrimp and my husband got the seafood platter. The fries were rubbery and seafood was way too over seasoned, just tasted too salty. I powered through my meal but my husband could not eat more than 4 bites. His meal was $15 so it's very disappointing spending so much on something inedible. They also forgot the rice with my meal. We won't be back to the seafood truck after this experience. read more

They don't give charro beans or french fries to you if you're white. We've been eating here FREQUENTLY since before it was even established and we've watched them serve those items to others (not white, of course) even after we've placed our order and they've refused to serve us any EVERY time. In May 2023, this is basically 2 Mexican food trucks parked next to large pavilion, which gives it a south of the border feel. Order in Spanish if you can, then pay attention to the window as orders are called out en Español, barely audible over the blasting oompah music. A two man band started to play at 11 AM on Sunday, making me think they are there a lot. The food is OK, nothing wrong but nothing too write about. I really wanted to like this place since it is so close to me. We ordered a burrito and barbacoa tacos. When asked what was in the burrito, she handed us the phone to talk to someone who speaks English. No problem, so we asked a couple questions, gave our order to both the person on the phone and the lady in the truck. We got home and there was no burrito. Instead, it was a steak quesadilla. The bottom of the quesadilla was soggy from all the grease. I thought the tacos might be better but the meat was so fatty and greasy the taste couldn't be enjoyed. By far the worst barbacoa I've ever had and that's usually my order at any taco place. Neither dish was finished and will not be returning. read more

Azteca Xitlaly is a food truck palace situated on 146 in Bacliff. they have a large, covered outdoor seating area, a giant red tent. we've been here twice now and the food is delicious! disclosure, i'm not Mexican, so i cant speak to authenticity, but i can say it's delicious! Azteca X makes birria tacos and quesadillas everyday, served with consommé. the beef is tender and the tortillas are perfect. our other favorite is the al pastor tacos. they are only $1 each on Mondays, and you can add a side of rice and beans for just a dollar! we have called in our order, and it is ready quickly. the al pastor is SO GOOD. i could have it every day. they also have family packs, which i've included in the photos below. Azteca X is open all day, and they even serve breakfast- although i've never tried it, their advertised plates look very tasty. next door there is a food truck that sells fruta preparada and mangonadas and ceviche - the mangonadas are good! so in short, if you're looking for some delicious food at a good price, check out Azteca Xitlaly. read more

I gave it two tries! The food was subpar. I had been craving menudo and their advertisement was delightful on fb. Unfortunately, for the price and drive I didn't find it worth it. We also ordered a torta and wings. The habanero mango wings were GROSSSSSS. Soggy, mild spice and no mango flavor. Something was wrong with that batch and we just asked for buffalo sauce to help eat our food. Definitely hoping for more because the location is quite appealing! read more
