I call Dave "The Wizard". Knoxville is lucky to have him. He clearly has a tremendous amount of…read moreexperience with repairing audio and video equipment. This is evident by how effortless he makes the work involved seem, despite the intricacies and labor required to perform the repairs. I have thus far had two 50+ year old speakers restored, and a mid 70's Kenwood integrated amp. The prices charged for the work seem fair. Dave is also easy to deal with. It takes him a few weeks to get to working on the repairs, but this is because he has a healthy backlog of repairs to complete. His workshop is filled with equipment he is working on. Demand is high, for good reason: this man is reliable and fair. If you need something repaired, I recommend taking it here.

I was told it would be 2-3 weeks before he could look at it. 3 weeks later I called and was told he hadn't looked at it yet but he would today. A couple hours later he called back and confirmed what I already knew, that I had no sound from the right channel. He also said that there were problems with the record player that had been working perfectly before I dropped it off. I asked for a price to fix it, and he said at least $125 plus parts. I told him that the record player had been working fine when I dropped it and just needed sound from the right speakers. He told me again that it would be at least $125 to fix the right speakers. I pressed him to explain how much of the $125 was parts and how much was labor and his request was "most of it is labor". I asked again, how much he would be charging me for labor and how much was for parts, to which he replied "it doesn't matter, that's what I'm charging you to fix it." I then asked to come pick it up. When I went back to pick up my console, he surprisingly did help me load it in my car, at which point I said "your price is reasonable if that's what it would take to fix it, but I need to know what I'm paying for." I might as well have said nothing because he literally ignored my statement and walked in. I recommend avoiding this business. I am confident I would have been overcharged for repairs rendered, and most likely charged to fix parts that weren't broken again. If I could give zero stars for this experience. Update 9/26/18: I took my console literally across the street to Ammons Electrical Repair and they had it fixed and working the very next day for half the price. If you have the choice, choose them. Dixie was 3 weeks, no repairs, and a quote of "about $125". Ammons was one day, $85. They also confirmed that Dixie was full of it trying to fix my turntable which has no issues at all.

They had us take the Xbox to the store where their advanced repairs are handled and fixed it properly at no additional charge. They also assured me that they would be training staff better so as not to improperly blame customers for damages. Original review: About three months ago, they "repaired" my son's Xbox by replacing the HDMI port. Unfortunately, they failed to secure the port. The reason I know this is that when it failed again and we took it back for repair under their warranty, they claimed that the port was "ripped off the motherboard." After receiving the Xbox from them the first time, we exercised the UTMOST care with that port and didn't even move the console after plugging it in. The only way that port could have been ripped off the motherboard is if it hadn't been secured properly in the first place.

I took my phone back in and they tried with another screen and still the same result Mindy I had only gone in and asked for a screen replacement in my phone was working fine other than that all of a sudden after they take my screen off and put an aftermarket one on my phone no longer works properly and then I requested that they leave the screen that they originally compromised my phone with on so I could take it to another store so they could fix the screen and now the power issue. Instead of leaving the screen they messed up with and giving me a refund. they insisted that there's no way they're techs anything Wrong when very clearly my phone wasn't functioning as they did the screen replacement. All they did was money back and shoot me out the door they did nothing wrong which just doesn't add up. I do not recommend coming here even while I was multiple people had issues with their products. I am the last one to make a review but this honestly bothered me so much Blake Dietz 7/19/25
